A chill in the air

It's time to make a big pot of soup, and today's is chicken noodle. The broth is almost done, and I'm roasting a five pound chicken in the oven to go into the soup.

Tomorrow, I'll add more carrots, onions, celery, and the roasted chicken meat, as well as homemade noodles. It takes a couple days to do this, but it's easy and very worth the wait.

The homemade noodles are from an old German recipe. Hi, Klaus!

Don't worry, Vince, I put in plenty of garlic, both in the broth and the finished soup. :thumb:

It's good soup season here now, with some nights below freezing.
Holy Cow, the house sure smells good with the broth and roasting chicken.

I need to bake some Ginger Gem cookies this week, too. I like to do that on days when we are having leftover soup for dinner. Time to bake cookies or other goodies those days. Tea and Ginger Gems ................... yum!
