(Reuters) - China's top telecoms gear makers should be shut out of the U.S. market as potential Chinese state influence on them poses a security threat, the U.S. House of Representatives' Intelligence Committee said in a draft of a report to be released on Monday.

U.S. intelligence must stay focused on efforts by Huawei Technologies Co Ltd and ZTE Corp to expand in the United States, and tell the private sector as much as possible about the purported espionage threat, the panel leaders said, based on their 11-month investigation of the two firms.

I have had some experience in dealing with Huawei and ZTE. It is not exactly like dealing with ALU or Ericsson-Nortel. I would not discount anything in this report due to this experience and with the Chinese in general.

I bet they don't charge your clients like ALU or ERICY charges your client either. ;)

I wouldn't either, especially not before I have a look at the actual report.

No, they don't. It is as if they are trying to buy their way into our markets which, of course, is exactly what they are doing. However, although the initial equipment costs are low they are utterly opaque with regard to support of their networks which in effect binds you to them for even the most trivial engineering or support task. Asking for even the data fill protocols for their core elements you would think you were asking for a blueprint to their latest attack helicopter.
