Even Chris "Thrill in my pants" Matthews has conceded that Romney won the debate. BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

He also admitted that he and his network have been carrying water for the Obama campaign.

Does any one watching the debate feels like Romney has walked back from his own tax plan?

No mention of that 20% cut to all marginal rates, lots of denial that he would cut taxes much at all.

Not that I think it's a bad thing if he walks back from it (since I have not been impressed by his tax plananyway) ... just asking whether any one else also feels like Romney has walked back from his tax plan in tonight's debate.
He has been vague on purpose. Makes it harder for Obama to punch holes in his "tax plan" that's kinda just floating around up there out of reach and site by all.

He made a big deal tonight about cutting rates across the board but also killing yet specifically unmentioned deductions to "keep the revenue coming".

The reason he won't specify which deductions would be cut is because as soon as he mentions them, he's going to lose voters. Especially if he goes after mortgage interest.

It's only the first debate. After tonight, you can bet that Obama's team will shift strategy and coaching. It will be a lot closer on the next one (Foreign policy, right? which is not Romney's forte).

Yeah, right. Keep expectations low like before this encounter, so we can rest on our laurels - and let down our guard! Like tonight.

Clever, but not buying. :smokin:
Obama needs to practice being quicker on the draw and not forgetting his strong points (WHAT happened to that 47%??) Don't know HOW to get him to lose that *throat clearing*, um, "AAANND", etc. Also considerable repetition. Romney was redundant too, but less so.

Style and delivery is all. Shame, but true.

I'd think that was a real weak point for Obama -- Romney could tear him up over the Arab Spring and Libya.

I can't say I'd recommend it. You might be more interested in the next debate which is on foreign policy. This one was all about domestic issues.
In my defense, I was left unsupervised.

Good grief man, just do what I do - play Skyrim for 3 hours, then come here to find out who won.

I had to switch the radio off on the way to work this morning. They'd report on the debate, then go on to another subject so I'd think we were done, then they'd return to the bloody thing again without telling me. Bastards.
What do you mean "we", have you got a mouse in your pocket?

How about 'flexibility'?

Yeah, I think Romney can smoke Obama on foreign policy rather badly.
