So who is this Tonto guy?
They're probably referring to this fictitious character in an older American TV series:

Can I use "Tonto" as a universal insult on my next trip to the US, or is it only applicable in specific contexts?

Ah, from your answer I infer that "Tonto" is a racial slur.

Those have to be used with caution, I guess ;)

We Indians hate being called "Tonto." Personally, I prefer to be called a prairie-nigger. :lol2:

Recently I read the term "sandnigger" somewhere. In comparison to other languages, I often find that the English language lacks means to express fine levels of graduation, but I must admit that it is a really versatile language to insult others!

Problem is that english speaking people tend to be too civilized to insult one another, so that facility of the language tends to go under-appreciated.

If only we could set up some sort of internet forum where people could insult each other. Eh, it'd probably never work.
As a good person, I implore you to do as I, a good person, do. Be good. Do NOT be bad. If you see bad, end bad. End it in yourself, and end it in others. By any means necessary, the good must conquer the bad. Good people know this. Do you know this? Are you good?
