What did you think?
I thought that it's a sign of a socially responsible and mature human being to understand the harm of vile namecalling when conversing with others who share different political affiliations, opinions, viewpoints and life perspectives.

We all have our bad days and unbecoming episodes, but fully accepting and engaging in toxicity is another thing entirely.
I cite irreconcilable differences.

And this comes in a thread where a fair number of people are not just accepting but reveling in the very same toxicity that they complain about from others...
The problem with having an open mind is that people keep trying to put things in it.

Well, yeah. No one is either a sensible person or a jackass. We all do plenty of both from time to time but that doesn't mean the complaints don't hold water. Hypocrisy doesn't discredit any argument, it just makes others less inclined to listen to you.

Anyway, I'm just saying that there's a difference between having a threshold for being sh!tty towards others and thinking there doesn't need to be one.
I cite irreconcilable differences.

My god read this thread. A pig is telling people
to WTFU, to youngsters and their parents, and
the viewer. And some of you think it's alright?
Not to mention the fact that some (a Lawyer?)
thinks it's in the norm?
I'M NOT YELLING.........I'M ITALIAN...........THAT'S HOW WE TALK!

Well for one, it's Jackson's schtick. He's been doing it for years now. Anyone who watches his stuff is familiar with what he does. (Hell this is just a spoof of a previous project he did, the whole idea isn't new.)

Personally I found it pretty freaking funny. As for the political message behind it, I wasn't listening.

I can see where you might think I'm perfect because I don't like Mr. Jackson's video.

But I'm not really.
The Confederate soldier was peculiar in that he was ever ready to fight, but never ready to submit to the routine duty and discipline of the camp or the march. I simply return the favor whenever a creep like you starts the attack.

Whenever you want to be called a creep, just come here and act like a creep.

Think what's alright? That Larry threatens bodily harm to an actor obviously playing a role? Or that Copper says that families are fair game in a flame war, recalling his earlier disgusting threat? But I suppose this is OK because they didn't use naughty words while threatening, directly or indirectly, violence.

The upshot of Jackson's piece, regardless of its style, is that it is dangerous in a democracy to be complacent. Does anybody here have a problem with that message? How about with the message that if I don't like how you act, I'm going to beat you up or go after, in some fashion, your family?

And the whole point of the problem with the video was the style, obviously.

Either you're extremely selective about your opposition to this particular style, or you believe that individual political messages should uphold much higher standards than entertainment media.

But I'm not really.
Rather than Jackson's diatribe, I was actually referring to a pattern of unpleasant behaviour and sanctimonious language that is your stock in trade. I get a little tired of your constant holier than thou attitude, particularly bearing in mind what a complete asshole you are on a regular basis.

The fact that you don't swear doesn't make you any less of a sh!thead than those who do.

I can assure you that if Mr. Jackson made a simple public service message asking people to vote I would be unlikely to comment. It's likely I never would have seen it. In this case it is the style that is selective.

Simply saying I don't like Mr. Jackson's style doesn't mean I am saying anything about being holier than thou.

Does throwing vulgar words at me make you holier than me?

I get it.

If I don't like something that you like that you just can't stand it and start thinking that you have to attack me.

It's OK if I don't like Mr. Jackson's video.

It isn't a threat to you, it doesn't mean you have to say bad things about me.

Really? In the middle of a heated argument with another forum member, you posted a photo of his family that was almost immediately taken down by the moderators. If you need any further help with this, you might try using the search function.

Is that like our POTUSA being against the free speach
Of the Arsehole that made the stupid anti Islam Tape?
And I might add our right to free speach gives me the
right to say that I don't like an actor abusing a child by
using the kind of language that's on the spot.
Notice none on here criticized the message, only the
foul way it was presented. And a Lawyer came on
here and said it was normal speak today.
Not with my dinner companions.
