Quote:

The Ohio Republican made the remarks when an unidentified woman asked during a question-and-answer session: “Can you make me love Mitt Romney?”

“No,” Boehner said. “Listen, we’re just politicians. I wasn’t elected to play God. The American people probably aren’t going to fall in love with Mitt Romney. I’ll tell you this: 95 percent of the people that show up to vote in November are going to show up in that voting booth, and they are going to vote for or against Barack Obama.

“Mitt Romney has some friends, relatives and fellow Mormons ... some people that are going to vote for him. But that’s not what this election is about. This election is going to be a referendum on the president’s failed economic policies.

“Mitt Romney believes, just like we do, that if we’re going to get the economy back, if we’re going to put the American people back to work, we need to fix the tax code, we need to stop the regulatory juggernaut that’s going on in Washington and we need to fix our economy. Solid guy, he’s going to do a great job, even if you don’t fall in love with him.”

In my defense, I was left unsupervised.

That's enough for me.
The Confederate soldier was peculiar in that he was ever ready to fight, but never ready to submit to the routine duty and discipline of the camp or the march. The soldiers were determined to be soldiers after their own notions, and do their duty, for the love of it, as they thought best. Carlton McCarthy

With the possible exception of their wives, why would anybody fall in love with a politician?

People are idiots.

Maybe you missed it, but about a month or so ago the "Obama Girl" went on the record saying she no longer supported Obama.

The Obama idiots are just that. Romney is so smarmy and dull he can't even get idiots to fall in love with him.

300 million Americans, and this is it? Not only that, it takes you two f*cking godawful years to determine that this is it?

Maybe a lottery would be more effective. Just find some random knobhead on the street and elect him President.

You are entirely mistaken is in believing that some vague emotion toward a candidate dictates the electorate's decision making process. I have never loved or even had a warm feeling about a candidate in my life.

Right, so the 2008 election was based on some kind of intellectual process.

Sarah Palin versus Barack Obama. A war of logic.

Did you sleep through that one? I wish I had.

The 2008 election was about the unpopular foreign policies of the Bush administration and Obama's lies that he would substantially change them, and about the American electorate's inability to choose a path and see it out.
