HOLY CARP!!!
So here I sit in my hotel room in Poughkeepsie, waiting for another short while before I go over to CIA for a late-night pizza or such at Caterina d'Medici restaurant, where Twenty is pulling her last night of class. Her class/work isn't over until after 11pm in the restaurant, but the students had to be cleared out of the dorms earlier today. So she'll be staying here in my hotel room tonight, and we'll tagteam the ten-hour drive back to Columbus tomorrow morning.

It's been a long, but good, day. Planes, trains, and automobiles - well, a shuttle bus, actually - all worked right on schedule to get me where I needed to go, and when. It's great to see Twenty, of course, and I love to fly, anywhere, anytime. Plus, I got to have a great breakfast and conversation in Grand Central Terminal this morning, catching up with Bill Doubleday, one of my favorite Episcopalians, former professor and Interim Dean of the Episcopalian seminary affiliated with Trinity Lutheran, who taught me that shoe repair class - you know, Care of Souls - last year. Bill lives in Forest Hills NY now, and it was great to catch up with him.

With perfect timing, my phone battery decided to almost completely give up the ghost last night at around 11pm, so I had to be very careful with it until I got up here. This afternoon, I did have to find a Radio Shack to buy a new battery - fifty bucks for something that the manufacturer probably paid a dollar and a half to produce in some sweatshop in the two-thirds world. Other than the battery, though, it's been a really great day! ^_^
