Who knew dinosaurs could talk? That seems like a more significant scientific discovery than the Higgs boson.
As a good person, I implore you to do as I, a good person, do. Be good. Do NOT be bad. If you see bad, end bad. End it in yourself, and end it in others. By any means necessary, the good must conquer the bad. Good people know this. Do you know this? Are you good?

The reason given for banning the video from YouTube is that it was hate speech.

I've listened to the whole thing and can find not hate contained within. I think it especially interesting for those who consider themselves Christian to give it a listen, and give me a Biblical rebuttal concerning his theological argument.

I listened to the first 25 minutes, and it would take me several hours to offer a detailed scriptural rebuttal to just that portion. And after that, you wouldn't accept the rebuttal anyway, because we have different understandings regarding the nature and authority of scripture. I can't imagine the rest of his sermon is any better than the beginning, and I have to be up at 4:00 am to get ready to catch a plane, so I'm not going to waste the time to listen to more of him.

He has a very measured tone to his voice, unlike many of the screaming idiots who share much of his theology. That doesn't make his message any less hate-filled; it only puts it in a more attractive wrapper. To claim that homosexuality is the worst of all sins, as he repeatedly did in just the first 25 minutes, is about as hateful - not to mention theologically bizarre - as you can get.

Sorry, Jolly, I'm not wasting the time on the scriptural rebuttal at this point. I've already offered detailed scriptural and theological arguments regarding the issue in the past. Whether you choose to believe arguments like mine, or arguments like his, is entirely up to you. I'm letting go of the whale, you might say.

Dewey, you've walked so far away from scripture that you wouldn't know the truth of it if it slapped you in the mouth.

Yeah, Dewey, you need to stop working with the sick and the dying, and get back to preaching about how awful homosexuality is! You know, the really important stuff.

'I went to the Garden of Love,
And saw what I never had seen:
A Chapel was built in the midst,
Where I used to play on the green.

And the gates of this Chapel were shut,
And "Thou shalt not" writ over the door;
So I turned to the Garden of Love,
That so many sweet flowers bore;

And I saw it was filled with graves,
And tombstones where flowers should be;
And Priests in black gowns were walking their rounds,
And binding with briers my joys and desires.'

Bringing comfort to terminal patients and their families is the duty of any pastor, or in Dewey's case, a hospital chaplain.

But that's just one facet of the job.

He Biblically made his case as to why he thought homosexuality was the worst of sins. I agree that I don't find his argument to be overly compelling for that aspect of his sermon. I do find the rest of his points about homosexuality being a sin and an abomination, fairly well trod Scripture.

And no, pointing out that something is a sin, is not hate.

But we have entered into such a Bizarro World, where plain speech and the simple reading of Scripture has become hate speech in the eyes of many. So much so, that this video was taken down by YouTube.

How long before they decide some aspect of your belief system is hate speech and ban it? In the latter part of the sermon, he talks about persecution and the End Times.

Do you think yourself (rhetorical you) worthy of that persecution? If one is Christian, that's what we all should be striving for...

The reason given for banning the video from YouTube is that it was hate speech.
And that's the problem with YouTube.

Look no farther than some of the radical Islamist vids you'll see there. Unless someone complains, it gets a pass. YouTube doesn't censor unless someone makes a stink about it.

YouTube doesn't censor unless someone makes a stink about it.
Part of that is the nature of the organisation. They couldn't possibly monitor everything that's on there, so they react to complaints.

Incidentally, I don't think this video should have been banned. Based on the 30 seconds I wasted watching him, the guy's a bigoted imbecile, but since when did that ever stop people from being on YouTube?

There's no way in hell that should be banned, and I'll say that without watching it.

You can watch Hitler's speeches on YouTube, but not some modern-day American idiot.

People who complain about this stuff are even bigger morons than the guy making the speech in the first place.

Was there a question about this bloke's opinion on homosexuality?

Took me 40 seconds to realise Mr "perfectly healed in an instant" was going down the path of righteous bullsh1t.

You missed the bit at the end where he tried to blow a choirboy.

Actually, come to think of it, maybe that's what got him banned.

Actually, at the end he was talking about the difference in Russian and American teenagers, and how they seemed to interact with the opposite sex.

Of course, that would require a bit of thought and effort, two commodities usually in short supply....

Our village vicar got so drunk at the harvest festival one time, he had to be carried out. All the cool men (and women) of the cloth have fun. They're my favorites.
And how are you today?
