Remember July 4th of 1976?

I lived in small town Ohio and that year they painted all the fire hydrants to look like founding fathers. There was a big parade.

What did you do?

By the way, was anyone in Philly for the bicentennial? That must have been awesome. There are still some items from the 1876 event on display in various museums around the city, including a large diorama of the fairgrounds at the Please Touch museum.

In my defense, I was left unsupervised.

Found an image online from Fairfield CT, which did the same thing.

If you want trouble, find yourself a redhead
I remember it but I was busy living like the Rolling Stones on a budget.

Shortstop

I was in Boston July 4, 1976, just graduated from college. Boston reimbursed Great Britain for the Tea Party Tea on that day.

A pleasant reminder I'm sure.

The Confederate soldier was peculiar in that he was ever ready to fight, but never ready to submit to the routine duty and discipline of the camp or the march. The soldiers were determined to be soldiers after their own notions, and do their duty, for the love of it, as they thought best. Carlton McCarthy
