Yowza. Well, I was on the other side of the bullying, so I guess "they" had better be worried about ME. ![]() . . . ![]() |

back in my grade school days.. i wasn't even aware that bullying existed.. we were all pretty nice to each other. the girls could be snotty and the boys could have been unduly proud, but i don't think we were mean to each other. |

Bullying existed when I was in school, but I'm not sure it was as mean and persistent as what I hear of now. Part of that may be the ability to do so online without fear of reprisal, since bullies are notorious cowards. All you have to do is get one good one in and they will back off toot sweet. That is difficult to do online. |

I was bullied, because I really didn't start growing and filling out until I was 16/17, but I was always scrappy and quick, and having a father that beat the sh!t out of me on a fairly constant and regular basis, I had a whole lot of anger built up, so I would fight anyone, anywhere, over anything, and I can only recall losing one fight out of literally dozens, and even in losing, the other fella paid dearly for his victory. Word got around pretty quickly, that I wasn't an easy mark, and the bullying came to a screeching halt. |

I went to an all boys high school with 1,000 students. I'd say most people got hit at least a few times a day by random people and passed it along to whoever happened to be nearby. If anyone decided to go looking for revenge from that it would take a while. |

The Confederate soldier was peculiar in that he was ever ready to fight, but never ready to submit to the routine duty and discipline of the camp or the march. The soldiers were determined to be soldiers after their own notions, and do their duty, for the love of it, as they thought best. Carlton McCarthy | |

There were a couple boys who were real bullies from grade school on up. As we got older it became apparent that both boys had some serious emotional issues. |

ZOOOOOM!

I remember one kid giving me a hard time in middle school. Did a couple of pretty screwed up things, and once he stole my entire bookbag and put it back on the bus that took us to whatever field trip we had that day; I left my classroom, left the school and retrieved it from the back of the bus a good 10 minutes or so before the bus was going to leave for good. He thought that was all hilarious, especially since I got in serious trouble for leaving class without permission. So a couple of days later, I timed my walking around in the hall for when he was changing classes and was accessing his hall locker. When he was looking down to work the combination lock, I slammed his face into the metal lockers. A couple years later in high school, we were on the soccer team together. We were good friends, and hung out often. But I'm sure today both of us would have been expelled for what we did. Zero tolerance bullying policies are ****ing stupid. |

Mmmmmmm, pie!

I was bullied in grade school, but it was mostly just a couple of boys that did it. I was skinny, shy, and didn't like pain... lol High school brought a change though.. I filled out, came out of my shell, and the bullies were afraid of me. Not that I did anything to scare them, you understand....

Richard S. one day in 8th grade decided for whatever reason that I was an easy mark and started slap boxing 'c'mon, chicken boy' and stuff like that. Did you know that when you have an open palm you still have the heel of your hand? I rang his bell good with a right uppercut to the jaw after which he immediately decided that his estimation was incorrect. Did something very similar with Ronnie N. later that year whn he tried to steal my hat. The principle of cost for behavior is very useful in human and international relations. It is when we get away from these principles that we get in trouble. My daughter has always known that she is never to willingly let anyone abuse her and that if they try she has my full support in whatever retaliation she takes, rules be damned. |

Found out that a kid who tried to bully me, and ended up with me beating him black and blue, died a couple years ago from bone cancer. It made me grin. |
