Inn at Baldwin Creek

We stayed here long ago when they were quite new, and again this year. The inn is nice, comfortable, homey, quiet, peaceful, relaxing, and affordable, even for families with kids. It's not what I would call elegant, and that's just fine with us. We stayed in a space designed for families, because daughter appreciates having her own defined area. Here's where hubby and I slept, and hers was separate but connected, sharing our bath. Most of the rooms have either a fireplace or some type of heat stove in the room. They're cozy. Posted Image

The inn's rooms are above the restaurant, but have no fear of late noise. The restaurant closes at 9:00 in the evening, and we have never heard the noises from it anyway. The soundproofing must be well done. There is also a comfortable game room off the restaurant on the main floor for guests to use, and we have done that after dinner.

What brings us back is the restaurant. The owner/chef of the inn and restaurant does a terrific job with the menu. When we stay here, we enjoy breakfast in the morning as part of our room package, and we make sure to have reservations each night for the restaurant. The breakfast is complete in every way. You will have a hard time choosing how to start your day, because all the options look enticing.

In the evening, you will want to dine at Mary's Restaurant, right there in the inn. One of the specialties is the garlic soup. It is heavenly. Oh my. This time one of the spring seasonal items on the menu was braised rabbit. Hubby had it BOTH nights we were there, and I had to have it the second night after a taste of hubby's the prior evening. I just checked, and they have already switched to their summer menu, which has more wonderful choices. http://www.innatbaldwincreek.com/u/menu/summer_12_dinner.pdf

We go there to relax, not to rush around to events or exhibits, and I love to rug hook outdoors on the lawn or the patio. The grounds are lush and include a path the leads to Baldwin Creek.
