If the alternative is they are being taken to jail, booked and have to bond out, yes, It is very sensible. |

The Confederate soldier was peculiar in that he was ever ready to fight, but never ready to submit to the routine duty and discipline of the camp or the march. The soldiers were determined to be soldiers after their own notions, and do their duty, for the love of it, as they thought best. Carlton McCarthy | |

Actually, 15 grams is about half an ounce. The typical user buys an ounce at a time, or they did when I was into that. |

I don;t think they can afford it anymore. I remember being pissed when it went from 15-20 to 30-35. Last I heard it's around $400 an ounce. |

Whoa - who buys an ounce at a time? That's pretty serious in most states. Most typically, one purchases 1/8 oz., and that usually sits around the $50 mark. I've never heard of people routinely purchasing an ounce - mostly just because you're then most likely not getting a ticket, but an arrest with "intent to distribute" (again, depends on the state). |

Buying by the ounce was the common way when I was young (up into my mid-thirties). Obviously things have changed. I don't think I could afford it now. It certainly wasn't an amount that would get you an intent to distribute. that took a quarter lb. to a lb. Buying by the kilo was common for that level. |

I am so adjective that I verb nouns!

Doesn't an ounce produce about 60 joints? Seems like more than just personal use at that point. That said, I think the whole thing should be decriminalized. Edited by ivorythumper, Jun 15 2012, 09:36 AM.

We never got 60 joints out of an ounce but, then, it all depends how big you roll them. I knew one guy who would get two. |

No one was distributing buying by the ounce. |

Mmmmmmm, pie!
|
Last time I knew anything about it, a half ounce was called a "nickel bag", and an ounce was called a "dime bag", meaning 5 bucks for half an ounce, 10 bucks for an ounce. No idea how many joints you could get out of an ounce, because I've never rolled a joint in my life. But if I remember correctly the people who did roll joints usually got about ten to 12 joints out of a nickel bag. |
