Nothing is as effective as homeopathy.

I'd rather listen to an hour of Abba than an hour of The Beatles.

That's a really good show. I encourage others to youtube other cool tricks (like the dinner trick)

But I do like how this one ends:

Never seen that show. Is it British only? I'll look at BBC America.

ZOOOOOM!
Quick side note about Teller:

He talks. He talks all the time.

[recalling the story as I remember it]
He got into magic when he was a teen to young adult, being hired for college shows and the like. But the problem was, he was taking his magic seriously and his clients weren't. At frat parties and other venues they'd throw beer cans at him while he was performing. It really pissed him off.

So after awhile he decided that he's going to learn a trick that'll REALLY shut them the **** up. He worked out a variation of a Houdini trick that's essentially a needle swallow: put a needle in your mouth, swallow it, put a thread in your mouth, pull the thread out and have the needle come out tied on the other end. Only in Teller's version, he didn't swallow a needle; he swallowed a whole damn pack of needles, one by one by one.

This finally got his audiences to shut the **** up and watch. And obviously, when you're doing a trick like that, you're not going to want to make any unnecessary movements with your mouth, either.

So it just got used to not talking in front of audiences. But it's not like he can't or won't.
[/story]

Also, he's one of about 8 guys in the country who really do have no first name. His passport says N.F.N. Teller.
I cite irreconcilable differences.

HOLY CARP!!!
I saw Shawn Farquhar live. The company I used to work for produced family entertainment events benefiting charities, ie. Shrine Circus, Oldtimers Hockey, and magic shows.

He performed in our 2010 magic show tour, and I was able to get free tickets to the company's events.

IIRC, he was the best of that years 3 guest acts.

The show has the same headliner, Murray Hatfield, every year, and then 3 guest acts. The first two years I worked for the company, 2008, and 2009 the show was amazing. The last couple years I didn't enjoy it as much, partly because the guest acts weren't as good as prior years, and partly because Murray's show is more or less the same year to year so i'm not getting anything new in that respect. I can still get free tickets to the shows, but I'm not sure if I'll even bother going this year.
