I don't think he can help you. They cut off my OED access a year after I finished the MBA. IT suggested I go for a doctorate. Maybe a subscription would be cheaper. |

I usually hear the word "peruse" used in the wrong context. A lot of people that use it think it means "to read over quickly" as in "Let me peruse the magazine while I'm waiting." In fact, it means "to read thoroughly". |

You can also peruse photographs and paintings and yeah, it does indeed mean to examine thoroughly. Then again I don't think too many people know the difference between skimming through something and reading it thoroughly so maybe the mistake is just as well. |
