Occupy the Voting Booth!

Over the last year we’ve witnessed an unprecedented GOP war on voting, with a dozen Republican governors and state legislators passing laws to restrict voter registration drives, require birth certificates to register to vote, curtail early voting, mandate government-issued photo IDs to cast a ballot and disenfranchise ex-felons who’ve served their time. The Brennan Center for Justice has estimated that “these new laws could make it significantly harder for more than 5 million eligible voters to cast ballots in 2012,” and notes that “these new restrictions fall most heavily on young, minority and low-income voters, as well as on voters with disabilities.”

On Saturday, in conjunction with UN Human Rights Day, thousands of activists and concerned citizens in New York City held a march and rally to protest these restrictive new laws.
...
Groups sponsoring the march/rally included the NAACP, SEIU1199 and the United Federation of Teachers.

A Boeing Machinists union voted late Wednesday to approve a four-year contract extension, likely ending a months-long labor debate that provoked Republican attacks on the National Labor Relations Board and the White House.

Nothing is as effective as homeopathy.

I'd rather listen to an hour of Abba than an hour of The Beatles.

Is Boeing Machinists part part of NAACP, SEIU1199 or the United Federation of Teachers?
If not, what relevance does any of this have on your hypocrisy meter?

(You sure your hypocrisy meter every worked to begin with? :D )

"after working at Kaiser Permanente for 21 years, I was abruptly informed that Service Employees International Union organizers were launching a 'card check' drive at my workplace. Following a 13-day campaign, company officials announced that SEIU organizers had collected enough union cards to become the sole bargaining agent at my office."

Ivey and a number of her colleagues went through the Dana process of collecting signatures to hold a secret ballot election, which the NLRB scheduled for Oct. 4. But once the Lamons Gasket decision was announced in August, the Oct. 4 election was cancelled, without explanation.

In September 2009, workers at a new Boeing plant in South Carolina voted 199-68 to decertify the International Association of Machinists (IAM).

Hypocrisy meter worked just fine. Every time.

This whole photo ID issue is so idiotic. I can't even get into my place of work without a photo ID - most people probably have the same situation.

I'm surprised nobody has brought up the issue of photo ID's for flying - isn't this discriminating against allowing black people to travel?

Knobheads.
What do you mean "we", have you got a mouse in your pocket?
