Wonderful on Steaks. Pan sear steak, both sides. Finish in the oven 400 degrees, five minutes, then put the cheese on top.
and continue cooking another five minutes.

One thing you could do with a lot of it is mix it with butter, make into rolls and freeze it. Then you can get out a bit to melt on portobellos, chicken or fish. Or the occasional steak if you wish.

yeah, it goes well with beef. Had a panini the other day with beef, onions and blue cheese. So good. But not what R2 is looking for. Sorry, girl.

an excellent instant sauce.. it just melts immediately. You CAN freeze a wedge if you got a lot.

i like it on salads, (rather than in dressing).. on crackers..

you have an horsdoovere you can take to any more parties.. just add some cream cheese, some crackers... maybe a bowl of fancy olives or artichoke hearts on the side.. something like that... invite some people over.. it's really good served with pears and apples.

OK, R2, what's the verdict? What will you do with all that cheese?

R2, I have never served blue cheese, so I will await your decision and learn some ideas from others here.

you can also make a tasty (if off-colored) sauce by simply melting 3 tblspoons in a cup of heated milk. It's really quite good on chicken breast.

No verdict yet.

Dad sent me some last year as well, and I made these appetizer-sized puff pastries. I served it on salad. With crackers and wine.

I never really felt like I found the perfect recipe or food combination.

I guess it's common to feel sorta lost around the holiday season.
