I see that Green Bay is only favored by 11 points over the non existent offense of the Oakland Raiders. In Green Bay to boot.

I am a Raider fan but also a realist. Green Bay will thrash them by over 20.

I am calling my mom in Carson City to place a wager for me.

How appropriate that it is Carson City. Although they have not done badly this year considering. Palmer seems to be working out OK for them.

You must have missed his throwing exhibition against Miami last week.

I did indeed. More completions to the defense than the offense?

I think he only had 1 pick but it was how bad his incompletions were. Some of them weren't even in the same zip code as his target. Also letting Miami get up to 33 to nothing before he finally threw a couple of td's.

Oh let's not talk about last week against Miami - that was so sad. Hated to see that happen before they headed to Green Bay; I'm almost afraid to watch on Sunday. Considering the injuries on the team, they have done great to stay in the hunt but I think it's about to come to an ugly end. Last week aside, Carson Palmer has seemed to come up to speed on the Raider playbook pretty quickly and has done some good stuff, too bad it had to fall apart the way it did last week.

Heck, he wasn't any better the week before against Chicago. Our only saving grace was that Cutler was out and the backup stank it up.

Be careful, NS. I wouldn't make that bet, personally. Palmer may have a bit of a rennaisance against our secondary.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't both of Oakland's top receivers out, and weren't they pretty much down to scrubs? In all fairness to Carson, he's barely had a chance to build timing and rapport with the top two guys, I doubt that he's had much work with the #3-6 receivers.
The problem with having an open mind is that people keep trying to put things in it.

I'm not yet a member of the "let's tar and feather Palmer out of town" club yet. I realize he's dealing without a full compliment of playing cards right now. McFadden was having an allstar year and was carrying this team with his running, but he's still out. I'm just aghast at this current point spread. Ridonkulous!

Ah, I didn't realize they were so depleted at WR. Yeah, maybe 11 is a bit low... but for NFL lines, 11 is pretty big. Palmer's probably still capable of being a good QB on any given sunday.

The Packers may be a bit overrated to be honest. We keep winning, but we have rarely felt dominant.

you keep talking like that Horace. I know it makes you feel better, kinda like preparing for the big letdown, saying it will come, but really thinking "hell no, undefeated we go!"

Each week grows the pressure. Can Green Bay meet it?

I hope you at least agree with me my fellow Californian, that our cheese is better than theirs! :thumb:

Haha. Yeah it's probably a little of that, preparing for the worst. But yeah I'm pretty sure they're a bit overrated and not quite as good as their record would indicate. We had a pretty decent chance of losing a few of our games so far this year. It's a minor miracle we haven't. Or maybe I'm just deluded.

But GB will meet the pressure, yeah. Rodgers and company are in it, they're preparing and grinding each week, and don't have the time or inclination to worry about anything. As a fan, I have no control, so the thoughts I do spare might tend towards the negative. But I respect these guys so much. It won't surprise me if they go 19-0. And it won't surprise me if I don't see it again in my lifetime. No better group of guys will ever achieve it, if anybody ever does.

Cheese. And I'm from Wisconsin, now living in California.

Don't care for it much. I mean yeah melted on pizza or sandwiches, hell yeah. But eh. Otherwise, I can find better ways to spend my calories. :leaving: Sacrilege!!

I don't know why they don't just go to 60 Minutes. Not much point in keeping this game on.

Yeah. Palmer is truly awful.

Glad to see that Jennings'll be back for the playoffs!
