Yep, it is schmaltzy. But it goes with the holidays doesn't it?

Anyone know what the piano music is? I think I'd like to have a go at learning it since it seems to be within my abilities.

If you want trouble, find yourself a redhead
Liked it. Very nice job of storytelling.

Good stuff, thanks Dan.

Always a fine line between sappy and touching - we can find ourselves emotionally dissonant for things that affect us on multiple levels and in different directions.

The most effective and touching stories are always those which seem the most real. Subjectively, of course.

I was a bit dissonant when the homeless guy stared down the young boy, and when he caressed the young girl - didn't feel real. Maybe too many negative cultural associations with that sort of thing.

But it was good. Not least because of the piano music.
As a good person, I implore you to do as I, a good person, do. Be good. Do NOT be bad. If you see bad, end bad. End it in yourself, and end it in others. By any means necessary, the good must conquer the bad. Good people know this. Do you know this? Are you good?

Doesn't that go without saying? ^_^ Same goes for whatever other narratives that exist out there; thrillers, comedies, etc.

Why doesn't that guy just get a job at the very place whose stoop he's squatting on? Also, the thing with the penny left for the kid to find was a bit of a stretch.

But this is all serious nitpicking; I liked it.
I cite irreconcilable differences.

What if the video was accompanied by heavy metal music?

oooooooo, great idea

There's something cold and blank behind her smile
She's standing on an overpass
In her miracle mile

[Pre-chorus:]
"You were from a perfect world
A world that threw me away today
Today to run away"

[Chorus:]
A pill to make you numb
A pill to make you dumb
A pill to make you anybody else
But all the drugs in this world
Won't save her from herself

Her mouth was an empty cut
And she was waiting to fall
Just bleeding like a polaroid that
Lost all her dolls

I wish, but not really. Any time a fan of a movie hears a complaint about a lack of realism, they'll defend it by saying it's not supposed to be real, it's supposed to be a movie.
