Pfft. You want unique, do what my parents did and give your kid a name that's never made the top100 - and then use a rare spelling, at that. When I was a kid, I was so pissed, I could never find a little personalized license plate for my bicycle in the stores. I suppose I shouldn't complain - Mrs Dewey had a foreign student named Sh!thead - pronounced "Shuh - THEED".
"By nature, i prefer brevity." - John Calvin, Institutes of the Christian Religion, p. 685.

"Never waste your time trying to explain yourself to people who are committed to misunderstanding you." - Anonymous

"Oh sure, every once in a while a turd floated by, but other than that it was just fine." - Joe A., 2011

I'll answer your other comments later, but my primary priority for the rest of the evening is to get drunk." - Klaus, 12/31/14

Cheers
My kid's name hasn't been in the top 1000 for 50 years, and never breached 400 in the 120 years that the SSA has data.

We ruled out a few names we liked because they were getting too common, not to say trendy.
In my defense, I was left unsupervised.

I told my dad 4 or 5 years ago I liked the name 'Sophia Grace'. Still do.
And how are you today?

A friend just had a son last week end, named him Jace. Kinda cool -- when I was a kid everyone had normal names like Danny, John, Mike, Tom, David, Frank, Andy, Jim, Bill ... none of those are even on the list any more.
If/when I have kids, they will have relatively normal names. Thomas, Stephen, Laura, Abigail, etc.

Although I always did want to name my kid Calvin or Hobbes.

My name was ranked 146 in about 1907. That's the highest.
And how are you today?
