Some are iconic, some are forgettable. But a good way to waste 6 1/2 minutes I must say. Thanks George. |

More context please brenda. "It's a Wonderful Life" is a holiday favorite of ours, but I can't place the scene your talking about. And, once I get it placed, is it really unscripted? Thanks! |

Brother Harry Bailey comes home from college with his new bride, and later in the evening, there is a party at the family home. Uncle Billy is leaving the party at the Bailey home. Uncle Billy and George Bailey are outside by the porch. Uncle Billy is rather inebriated and George points him in the direction to walk home. When Uncle Billy is off camera, we hear a loud crash of metal, sounding perhaps like some garbage cans tipping over, and Uncle Billy's voice says, "I'm alright! I'm alllllllright!" George Bailey laughs and turns back toward the porch. The crashing sound was an accidental event, and Uncle Billy's character added the "I'm alright!" lines. It worked so well that it was kept in the film. The admission of this segment being unscripted is in the extended version commentary. |

Not sure it's in the video and not sure it was unscripted, but there is a scene from Saving Private Ryan that I think may have been. It happens when Capt. Miller is getting his interpreter, Upham, prior to setting out on the mission. Upham is flustered about going into action and tries to take his typewriter and some other stuff and also grabs a german helmet in stead of his own. Miller grabs all that stuff and tosses it aside saying he won't be needing it. Upham then drops his GI helmet and Miller points to it and says, "You will need that". It was the one, and only, moment when I saw a glimpse of Tom Hanks in Miller's character. |
