I remember watching a movie as a Kid -I think it was the 3 Stooges. They were in a house, and hands used to come out of the walls. Anytime one of them leaned against a wall - usually by a framed picture (if I remember correctly) the picture would swing inwards and a pair of hands would try to grab them. I wouldn't lean against walls for years. Have never been able to find information on the movie. |

LW: The first Paranormal Activity was I think the "best" - because it was prior to it being purchased and turned into a franchise. The movie was made by the people starring in it, for something like $10k-$20k - it was sort of a Blair Witch concept, though it wasn't supposed to be taken as reality - it was always supposed to be a movie. But because of the low budget, it came off as very "real" - and so the creepy factor was high, while the movie factor was low. It was like watching home movies - but pretty well tensioned and creepy I felt. LsD: I haven't started the new season of Walking Dead. Believe it or not, with everything that went on in my life in the last year, I never made it past episode 2 of the first season, even though I kept all of the episodes on my DVR. I started recording the new season, and just haven't got caught up yet. I don't know if American Horror Story is available on-demand - if I could get episodes off of my DVR (which is impossible with DirecTV unfortunately) I'd totally share them with you. I'm sure you could torrent or usenet them though, and have the three available episodes in a couple hours to watch in HD.

Yeah, the fact that the budget was so low and it was done by the actors is great, but it was still disappointing to me. Creepy, but not especially scary. |

You ever see Return to Oz? Surely would have given me nightmares as a kid, if I had seen it at a younger age. It's much closer to the books than the original, and therefore much more freaky. Oh and Paranormal Activity, in all its incarnations, sucks a big one. |

Identifying narcissists isn't difficult. Just look for the person who is constantly fishing for compliments and admiration while breaking down over even the slightest bit of criticism. We have the freedom to choose our actions, but we do not get to choose our consequences. | |

Man, just saw episode two of American Horror Story and that show is MESSED UP. Just completely full of Twin Peaks-esque "WTF?!" moments. I'm almost afraid to hit "play" and start the next episode. I feel like I should watch it in the daylight. |

For me it was "The Thing" with James Arness as the monster. We were watching this when I was like 5 or so and my parents had to run out to the store for 1/2 an hour. I begged, and they let my stay home to keep watching it. The were gone for only 1/2 an hour, just like they said. It took them another 1/2 hour or so to find me. I had hidden in the garbage cans in the garage. No way was I going to come out, ever. The scene where the dogs were found (in the freezer or something like that?) had sent me scurrying for someplace to hide. For my brother, it was Hush Hush Sweet Charlotte, just like PattyP. We slept in the basement, and had twin beds. For something like a year after that movie my bro made me sleep in the double bed with him in the basement rec room. No idea what I was going to do to protect him, he was older after all. I think it was the head rolling for him too. I was lucky enough not to have seen it when he did, and then smart enough to never watch it afterwards. |

Not seen Return to Oz. I am actually not much into scaring myself, so do not typically watch horror films. I'll keep an eye for Return to Oz though, as it sounds like it might be kind of cool. Paranormal Activity - my 13-year-old twins just saw 1 and 2 at a Halloween party sleepover and loved it. Meh, they like those phony ghost hunter shows as well which I hate with a passion. |

Wow, I can't believe The Birds is not on that list. That movie scared the living carp out of me when I was a kid. I avoid flocking birds for many years after I first saw it. |
