Anybody using the tall spray faucets?

Like this is what I'm talking about:

I'm considering this type for the main cleanup sink for washing my mixer bowl from the Hobart, my big soup pots, the half-sheet baking trays, and stuff like that.

apple, I bet you've seen them. Any advice?

I'm thinking it would be good to have that regular faucet at the base, too. Some don't have that, just the tall sprayer. I think it would be good to have both.

The small prep sink could have a small version of this type of faucet, and then the sprayer portion could double as a pot-filler. Sort of a two-for-one thing there. :)

Weird (the image flashed and then disappeared). I think I recognized it in time. It is a commercial style? Not the kind that pulls out of the neck and then slides back in? I have used the former in commercial settings and love them. I have never used the latter but I fooling with them in plumbing supply stores they seem like they'd someday fail.

Same thing happened to me, Kincaid... the image appears for a split second and then is replaced by "Posted image".

You're lucky.

For me, the image loaded, and just stayed there.

I like the one in the picture you posted Brenda.. very sturdy and great for getting the sides of pots... wish i had one. Great for spraying people too. The only thing i've noticed is that it is rather hard to regulate the strength of spray.. it's either full force or not.

That's quite the faucet Riley...

See if this pic works better for the folks who had trouble before.

Riley, it's kind of like the one in your pic, except taller. Some of these are up to 36" tall.

apple, I figured you would know what I'm talking about. The force of the spray is a question for me. I'm thinking the ones for home use are not really as strong as the true commercial models, and that would be OK. I don't need the water to blast back out of the sink at me, but I would like it not to limp out of the sprayer either. The ones that are called semi-pro seem to be that compromise.

I've posted over at the Gardenweb site in the kitchen forum, and some there have used the Kraus brand. Those are much less expensive, which is really appealing, but might also indicate poorer quality.

Tried to get my wife to go for one of those but she wanted a regular gooseneck faucet (and we already had a separate sprayer).

I'm thinking this type would be super for our cleanup sink, especially for washing the Hobart bowl and my biggest soup pot. It would be up nice and high, and reach inside them.

Plus, as apple noted, I could squirt people! :lol2:

maybe spray strength isn't so important, as long as one has a scrub brush.. just watering down the dough would suffice for all but bread doughs.

we used to have some awesome food (and water sprayer fights) in our kitchen.. shoot, we were young chefs at one of the coolest places in town.. we had a lot of energy and sometimes not too much common sense. I thought it a brilliant idea (after the deep fryer was covered with a hotel tray) and EVERYTHING put away to spray down the whole kitchen.. it actually worked pretty well without about 10 towels and some clorox to dry and clean it.

once i got water inside the deep fryer (not good). (Once i dropped about 10 gallons of old grease onto the floor right before lunch service.. about the worst thing that could have happened).

just don't buy a deep fryer Brenda.. k?

I've never owned a deep fryer, apple. We're not keen on fried food here.

As for the sprayer, I'm not looking for the super powerful kind like they have in commercial kitchens. I think that would be overkill. Just a reasonably strong spray (by home standards) so it doesn't take forever to rinse the big pots.

A gal at the Kitchen forum on GardenWeb made a video JUST FOR ME!! Can you believe this?

She demonstrates her own semi-pro spray faucet. I like this one.

Not sure where she is from originally, but she apologized for her Mid-western twang. Funny, but I did not hear it. Maybe she is from near Minnesooooota. She knows I'm from there, because my user name for that forum is brendaminnesota.

Speaking of filling buckets, I'd love to have a small one like these to use at the small prep sink by the range. I think it could do double duty as a pot filler.
