It seems this economy would be just fine if not for those darned republicans.

Obama Speaks in Detroit

President Obama spoke to union members and supporters at a Labor Day rally in Detroit yesterday. As Sarah Cwiek reports, the President says his biggest concern is to “fully restore” the country’s middle class:

The President will outline a jobs agenda to Congress on Thursday. He drew a disbelieving groan from the crowd when he said he still believes “both parties can work together.” But Mr. Obama also said he “won’t wait around for” Republicans in Congress. “We’re going to see if Congressional Republicans will put country before party. We’ll give ‘em a plan, and then we’ll say: do you want to create jobs? Then put our construction workers back to work re-building America.” The President says he’ll urge spending on infrastructure, growing export markets, and renewing a payroll tax cut for workers.

Those republicans just don't want to create jobs.
The Confederate soldier was peculiar in that he was ever ready to fight, but never ready to submit to the routine duty and discipline of the camp or the march. The soldiers were determined to be soldiers after their own notions, and do their duty, for the love of it, as they thought best. Carlton McCarthy

Wait a minute.

Is restoring the middle class the same as Pursuit of “Middleclassness”?

Quote:

1. Commitment to God
2. Commitment to the Black Community
3. Commitment to the Black Family
4. Dedication to the Pursuit of Education
5. Dedication to the Pursuit of Excellence
6. Adherence to the Black Work Ethic
7. Commitment to Self-Discipline and Self-Respect
8. Disavowal of the Pursuit of “Middleclassness”
9. Pledge to make the fruits of all developing and acquired skills available to the Black Community
10. Pledge to Allocate Regularly, a Portion of Personal Resources for Strengthening and Supporting Black Institutions
11. Pledge allegiance to all Black leadership who espouse and embrace the Black Value System
12. Personal commitment to embracement of the Black Value System.”

WOW!!!! What a *new* innovative plan. Spending on infrastructure. Obie must have some spare cash in his back pocket.

Maybe he can back a new company working with green energy or whatever. The last one worked out so well.
Identifying narcissists isn't difficult. Just look for the person who is constantly fishing for compliments
and admiration while breaking down over even the slightest bit of criticism.

We have the freedom to choose our actions, but we do not get to choose our consequences.

God, I'm bored.

I got 5 seconds into his speech on the way to work this morning, and immediately switched over to CD player.

Has anybody ever asked whether spending so freaking long on elections is actually necessary? It's over a sodding year until they finally choose the next knobhead-in-chief. I don't think I can survive that long.
What do you mean "we", have you got a mouse in your pocket?

Shovel Ready FTW!

Damn those Republicans and their blocking our efforts these past...3........years........

Uhmmm, when did the Republicans regain the house, again?

The problem with having an open mind is that people keep trying to put things in it.

You forgot the Republican filibusters in the Senate.

Please, all the Democrats needed was 1-2 Republican votes to break the fillibuster. There were plenty of Republicans that they could have targeted and won over. The problem was that there was enough dissension amongst the Democrats that even targeting Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins wouldn't help.

So restore the middle class or disavow Pursuit of “Middleclassness”?

I hope Mr. Obama gives us our guidance.

It's real warm here in Australia right now.
I cite irreconcilable differences.
