HOLY CARP!!!
Norman Rockwell's painting, "The Problem We All Live With", is temporarily on display in the White House.
56-year old Ruby Bridges, the then 6-yr old model, witnessed the event.

Wow, when he plays the card he doesn't fool around.

The campaign is now going full speed.
The Confederate soldier was peculiar in that he was ever ready to fight, but never ready to submit to the routine duty and discipline of the camp or the march. The soldiers were determined to be soldiers after their own notions, and do their duty, for the love of it, as they thought best. Carlton McCarthy

I always hoped that Obama would help to improve race relations, to help in "celebrating diversity" as a strength in our future.

I was dismayed by his comments which led to the Beer Summit - I'm even more dismayed by this picture.

His leadership in race/gender issues could have made a positive difference, perhaps one that only the first "black" president could make, or at least make in a more direct and positive manner.

Same here, Rain.
what exactly is "the problem" with hanging the Rockwell in the White house ?
If at all, it is there to show that times have indeed changed, Obama being president after all.

(Jolly's joke, though..)

I don't have a problem with the the picture at all. It is obamas general bad effect on race relations I am disappointed in.

Yes, that "If" is exactly the problem.

There should be no doubt.

If there was one good thing about Mr. Obama's election it was his race. There is no question that a page has been turned.

But he has failed to capitalize on that, he is such a dud, a cheap politician, a 2-bit thug.

Times have indeed changed, but where he is concerned the "If" is still required.
