ZOOOOOM!
Just last night I spent some time looking through Chinese ideograms. They're thoroughly fascinating.

I'm sure Ax and others will correct me if needed, but the symbol is that of a drum being played during a celebration.

The chinese character xi is two of those together, happy happy! It means also to be happy, to celebrate and also to like. But the double characters are also used in weddings a lot, and are also associated with marriage and fertility.

Aside to Ax: Do you have any idea how difficult tonal languages appear to non-native speakers? Last night I learned that the exact same freaking word for "mother" could also mean "linen," "horse," "hemp" or some kind of swear depending on how you say it. That, sir, is insanely hard to wrap your head around. (The book I was reading said that for the swear, it's customary to stamp your foot lightly when saying the word, too, for emphasis.)
I cite irreconcilable differences.

If you want trouble, find yourself a redhead
Loved this line:
