I closed a Merrill Lynch brokerage account about 10 years ago. I was tired of paying the fees for questionable advice. I wrote a check for the balance of what was in the account and notified them to close it. Somehow an interest payment or dividend or something was processed after the check and added $0.38 to the account. I didn't notice until the next quarterly statement. So for 10 years I have been receiving a quarterly statement for my $0.38. I think this validates my decision to leave. Today I received a check for $0.38 out of the blue. It appears they finally closed it. I assume they have some new management that is on the ball. Maybe it's time to open it back up. |

The Confederate soldier was peculiar in that he was ever ready to fight, but never ready to submit to the routine duty and discipline of the camp or the march. The soldiers were determined to be soldiers after their own notions, and do their duty, for the love of it, as they thought best. Carlton McCarthy | |

It would be pretty funny if the check bounced and cost them $35. |
| The problem with having an open mind is that people keep trying to put things in it. | |
