This beggars belief.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-14017661

They (The News of the World) hacked into a missing murdered girl's phone, and deleted messages. Un-freaking-believable.
What do you mean "we", have you got a mouse in your pocket?

Why did they delete the messages?
I cite irreconcilable differences.

Why did they delete the messages?
Maybe it simply made it easier for them to remember which ones they'd already listened to.

Seems the mailbox was getting full so they deleted some messages to make room for more.

A change to publishing the Sun 7 days a week isn't really anything but an adjustment to the Murdoch nomenclature.

Nevertheless, bloody good riddance to that revolting rag.

Does that give us one more page 3?

I think this might run and run. The Murdoch organisation's decision to close the News of the Screws is really just a cynical ploy to try and distract people from the fact that the whole industry is rotten to the core. He's fired a couple of hundred people who weren't involved in the phone tapping, meanwhile, the then-editor of the paper, Rebekah Brooks (a/k/a The Slapper), who clearly must have had knowledge of the practice, remains as CEO of News International.

With any luck, this crap will continue rolling up-hill, and some more senior people will be implicated. I'd love to see Murdoch's nasty little empire take a beating.

Today's news is that Andy Coulson, former editor and also erstwhile Communications Director for the British Prime Minister, is arrested and held for apparently bribing the police.

What a bunch of scumbags.

Looks like it wasn't just the News of the World

Gordon Brown goes after News International

Grubbing around looking at his son's (who had cystic fibrosis) medical information.

The more damage they can do to Rupert Murdoch's so-called news reporting services the better, as far as I'm concerned.

Scumbags.

There are also reports of hacking into the phones of the victims of 9/11....this has always been a 'smut' newspaper but they could not have sunk any lower if the allegations are true….....I doubt that Murdoch was not aware or chose not to be made aware of the actions of some journalists.
What bothers me is that if there had not been a demand for this kind of ‘journalism’ then the demand would not have been met. The profit margin is their only objective.

The News of the World has been an absolutely horrible rag for decades. If Murdoch is unaware of the kind of behaviour his 'journalists' were engaging in, he really has no place being in charge of such a large company, since he would presumably also need help changing himself in the morning.

For our American friends, a brewery is what the rest of the world uses to make beer. We gave up on harvesting gnats, a process patented by Anheuser-Busch, years ago.

HOLY CARP!!!
I heard somewhere the reason the British press has to be more aggressive is they don't have the Constitutionally-guaranteed freedom of the press that the US has.

Anything to that?
