HOLY CARP!!!
The ideal environment for child raising is a happy, loving home.

Where no weird sh!t is going on.

Dang, that excludes most of us.

Oh come on, the Catholic church clearly has a need to be ultra-conservative when it come to placing children with sexual deviants.

I mean extremely ultra-conservative.
So how should we define *extremely ultra-conservative* in this instance? How would you think it could be assessed?

There's no need to look beyond this forum for that answer.

The Church has been crucified by a long list of posters here because they failed to protect children from alternate lifestyles.

This is a no win situation.

The Church can't possibly place children in a situation even remotely resembling the problem.

The Church has no margin for error. The state can place children with predators all day long with impunity, that is an entirely different case.

So they have to get out. I think it probably hurts everyone involved, but I can't imagine any other way.
The Confederate soldier was peculiar in that he was ever ready to fight, but never ready to submit to the routine duty and discipline of the camp or the march. The soldiers were determined to be soldiers after their own notions, and do their duty, for the love of it, as they thought best. Carlton McCarthy

Fair enough.

Perhaps churches should get out the adoption business altogether. I know from my own experience with international adoption that there is one church out there that has an aggressive international adoption programme for its members so that it will be able to place male missionaries back to their birthplace carrying national passports so as to avoid visa requirements.
