ON the contrary, Ax, I'm proud - very proud, of the men and women whom we honor on this weekend.

You are right to be proud of them, but you should be ashamed of how you abused the pictures of their loved ones and their resting places.

In light of the continued abuse of pictures of the loved ones and resting places of the fallen, I reassert my protest.

And Dewey,

Your abuse of those pictures get on my nerves. It's more than fine that you want to pay respect to the fallen patriots, but the way you're doing it here, you're dishonoring them. Your use of pictures of their loved ones and their resting places here shows no respect. What message are you trying to convey here, that the fallen braves were in reality "raptured"?

If you think this thread has already gone into a sh!thole, stuffing these pictures down that same hole ain't going to clean it up, just smudging more disgrace onto the pictures. You might as well go post those pictures in biker bars' bathroom stalls.

If you want to listen to kluurs, then really shut up. If you want to pay respect to the fallen patriots, start a new thread and do it properly and I will join your there (heck, I will do that myself if I don't see it by Monday), or dedicate a sermon to them, if you can fit it into your theology.

But posting these pictures here just ain't it.

Yep. Speaking English is not enough. See this post:

Ax, you would rather that this thread continue to be a place where people like you can continue to instigate pointless arguments for the sole purpose for entertainment - trying to put people who have deeply held beliefs in a position where they feel compelled to chime in, and ultimately hurting people's feelings or getting into more hate-filled speech. Several people, including you, feel a need to try to continue that trend in this thread. There are plenty of days for TNCR to go that route. It has many times in the past, and it will many times in the future. I don't think it's appropriate for you or others to deliberately throw red meat out just in order to cause more anger, hurt feelings, and I think it's in especially poor taste to try to instigate that kind of thing today, when we, at least in the US, should be thinking more about the people whose lives we honor this weekend. That's MY protest.

Fitting. This thread has become assurance that our species will always have a need for Memorial Days.

Dewey is right, Ax is wrong.
The Confederate soldier was peculiar in that he was ever ready to fight, but never ready to submit to the routine duty and discipline of the camp or the march. The soldiers were determined to be soldiers after their own notions, and do their duty, for the love of it, as they thought best. Carlton McCarthy

You're welcome. You may want to reconsider the logic is unassailable.

Yep. Done once with arguing the topics. And now done with protesting trying to get the arguments started again. You want to keep instigating, and someone wants to take the bait, it's between yunz, as they say in Pittsburgh.

I think this thread has been he most successful TNCR thread ever at proving the need to respect diversity.

Arguing that there is one right way is narcissistic and futile, except for discussing things that are absolute, like what 2+2 equals .

Clearly.

Why on earth the god/no god debate conflicts with taking time to remember American soldiers who have been killed in wars, is truly bizarre. And as was suggested, you could have just started another thread instead of putting all those pictures in the very silly rapture thread.
