That has nothing to do with you claiming that Bachmann was dancing in that interview. So stop dancing and tell me how she was dancing. |

I already did. You're the one dancing here by pretending Stephanolous was asking her something clearly different from what he was actually asking her. In other words, I'm not accepting your invitation to dance on this one. |

More dancing Jon. You never answered the grounds for claiming Bachmann was dancing -- you just asserted it. And you just asserted that George was dancing when he was not. Sorry for holding you up to the standards you try to hold others to. It must be somewhat embarrassing that you can't dance too well.

BTW - when I examined the PDF, I noticed an issue...there seems to be odd layers, which doesn't make sense if this was a pure scan. See someone else's link with the layers I'm referring to: https://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&pid=explorer&chrome=true&srcid=0B7RBLw083OS5NjI4NGY2YTItZjMyOC00ODZjLThkY2EtNzlkZTc3NmNkZmE0&hl=en&pli=1 Other questions (raised by others) that are raised from this release: • If the original document was in a bound volume (as reflected by the curvature of the left hand side of the certificate), how can the green patterned background of the document's safety paper be so seamless? • Why, if Obama was born on August 4, 1961, was the “Date Accepted by Local Reg.” four days later on August 8, 1961? • What is the significance of the smudges in the box containing the name of the reported attendant? • David A. Sinclair, the M.D. who purportedly signed the document, died nearly eight years ago at age 81. So he is conveniently unavailable to answer questions about Obama’s reported birth. • In the “This Birth” box there are two mysterious Xs above “Twin” and “Triplet.” Is there a sibling or two unaccounted for? • What is the significance of the mysterious numbers, seen vertically, on the document’s right side? • Finally, the “Signature of Local Registrar” in box 21 may be a desperate attempt at establishing the document’s Hawaiian authenticity. Note to forgers: It is spelled “Ukulele.” |

HOLY CARP!!!

This one is simple. The original is bound in a book. When the Hawaiian Department of Health released a certified copy form the original, it' s done like this: Put the original (still bound in a book) on the photocopy machine. Feed the green patterned paper stock in the copy machine. Copy the original onto the green patterned paper stock. Certify the copy. Voila, you have seamless green pattern in the "background." Why use green patterned paper stock in such matter? I think it's just customary. I've seen certified copies of birth certificates issued by another state with the same green patterned background. |

Certified "copies" of my birth certificate (I've purchased several for different things) have always been fresh re-prints, not photocopies - is this normal in some states to photocopy onto "original" stock? |

Jon: I was confused by the wording on that as well, almost intimating that the doctor was 'taken care of' like we're in a Grisham novel? I mean - he's 81. It's not "convenient" that he's dead now - it's just what happens. Perhaps they waited for the law of averages to take effect and it just wasn't happening, so they had to intervene?

Afterbirthers! Ax, your killing me. 89th, your avatar video clip of the Dude is my favorite clip from the entire movie. I recently had to get my birth certificate. I think it is also a certificate of live birth - looks fresh off the press, not copied from something in a state archive. |

On the 'why did he wait' question. THis from Andrew Sullivan (quoting an attorney) "Quite literally, in order to release this document, the President had to ask to be treated as being above the law, even if it is a relatively trivial law in the grand scheme of things. Quite understandably, the State of Hawaii decided that this was a wise idea. That so many are prepared to insist that the President had an obligation to ask that he be treated as above the law from a very early date is far more troubling." |

I take that back - should've googled first. May depend on the state, but most definitely people can get their long-form BCs. |
