I love Chester - the old Roman castrum. I spent a year in Bath and lived in London for 2. Welcome.

Welcome Ashley!

What's with the "aha" in all your posts?

Just curious. Is it akin to the Canadian's "eh"? :leaving:

Hey Ashley - I lived in Chester for 8 years, and Mrs. D'Oh's family still do. It's a pretty nice place to be.
What do you mean "we", have you got a mouse in your pocket?

Aha sounds better than haha since it's not proper grammar :P.

Welcome Ashley!

I'm the resident expert on British culture, so if you have any questions, feel free to ask!
As a good person, I implore you to do as I, a good person, do. Be good. Do NOT be bad. If you see bad, end bad. End it in yourself, and end it in others. By any means necessary, the good must conquer the bad. Good people know this. Do you know this? Are you good?

So was our own beloved Caroline (also from England, now in London somewhere).

Welcome, Ashley. My own daughter turns 18 this week!

That's Brenda, two posts up. Think of her as your mum-away-from-mum.

She has an enormous Hobart mixer and is a fantastic baker.

Ashley, if you are a minor you may not want to be here.
Larry, and many others, but especially Larry posts lots of adult material. (Lar, I'm yanking your chain. Kisses and smooches.)
There are tons and tons of explicit posts about sex here.

I spent six years in the U.S. Navy and some stuff here makes ME blush.

Shall we change the culture here to make it minor-friendly?
Shall we just expose this minor to it all?
Serious question.

I'm not trying to make you feel unwelcome.
I'm just pointing out the elephant in the room.

Aww, you're a sweetheart to say such nice things, Mik.

Ashley, I also make hand-hooked rugs, from the initial design phase, through the hand-hooking, all the way to binding the finished edges. That reminds me that I should post some pics of the latest ones again. Sometimes you will hear me joke about hooking, and it's all about rugs.
