HOLY CARP!!!
Why do so many people seem to think that America is somehow unique, unlike any other great culture that has preceded it, and that if it falters it will signal the end of the age? What makes us so different? Why couldn't it be that if we decline, we'll do so just like so many which have risen and fallen before us, only to be replaced by another superpower culture in another two, three, or four hundred years?

I'm not saying that we *aren't* possibly nearing the ushering in of the earthly kingdom of God. Maybe we are; maybe we aren't. I'm just questioning why so many people assume that the United States must be a part of correct interpretations of biblical prophecy. And even assuming those interpretations are correct, who's to say that the countries being prophesied about aren't countries and cultures that haven't even begun yet?
