The reason he's not disclosing the original certificate is that he doesn't want to upset the religious people, who'll probably struggle with the fact that there's been a second virgin birth.

All women must now be compared to the divine Sarah, and all women will inevitably fall short of her divinity.

We humble and lowly folks are not fit to drink the water from her bidet - although I suspect a few would like to give it a shot.

Didn't pass any judgments at all. I pointed out that this was the 50s, not today. This is who the woman was.
That's you passing judgement right there.
That's not judgement, but historical knowledge.

By the standards of the day, the lady in question was way past avant garde.
Morality is never determined by the standards of the day.

It's simply a matter of choice. You either believe that some things are right or wrong, regardless of societal preference, or you don't.
I cite irreconcilable differences.

Is there going to be a smoking gun, a tape of Hillary accusing Obama of hiding the true location of his birth?

Nope, she's too smart for that. But it is a fact that those rumors leaked from her campaign, in classic Clintonesque style.

And if anybody thinks she didn't know about the propagation of those allegations (and most likely control their flow), you're nuttier than my Aunt Sophie's fruitcake

It has been rather well documented (hell, I remember it) that the birther thing started with the Clinton campaign. There certainly is nothing to tie it directly to Clinton herself but that seems rather picky to me.

Larry's claim was quite specific, and I was quite specific in highlighting it as the point I was taking issue with.

Its fun to watch you guys try to throw him rope. Unfortuately, George's rope wasn't long enough, you tossed yours in the wrong lake, and Jolly's was made of lead.

Sorry Jon, but I remember it well. I remember Hillary talking about it when she was campaigning.

The main point being made is that the "birther" issue began with Hillary Clinton. You can try to discredit that by focusing on some minor detail if you want, but that isn't going to change the main point being made, which is that the "birther" issue started with Hillary Clinton.

Well if you saw it or read it you should be able to furnish a link.

As to your other point, I'm really not sure how meaningful that is. Just because the first conspiracy theorist to promote this supported Clinton in the primary doesn't make the view any more respectable, or the hats of its current proponents any less metallic.

Perhaps she heard this interview with the ambassador from Kenya where he tells about how Obama's birthplace in Kenya is becoming a tourist attraction....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zH4GX3Otf14

Or maybe she heard this speech given by Michelle Obama where she talked about the two of them visiting Kenya, Barack's "home country"...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6M7Rp_Ghv6k

Or maybe she saw this video where his grandmother and his uncle talk about how Barack was born in their village in Kenya.....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bloHSojeLAw

Or maybe she found out about Obama's Connecticut Social Security number, and got to wondering why he has one since he's never lived in Connecticut....

For whatever reason, Hillary is the one who started the whole thing, and you can keep trying to pack it off on someone else all you want, it won't fly.

I could care less who made them. He didn't make Obama's wife say what she said, and he didn't make Obama's grandmother say what she said.

So, you want to narrow the point to the words actually coming out of Hillary's mouth. I suppose that if that is your specific objection to Larry's assertion we can agree that he was wrong about that but I really fail to see a substantive difference between Hillary saying it and her campaign disseminating it. The fact remains, and was Larry's original assertion, the whole birther thing was "birthed" not by right wing nutbobs but a left wing presidential campaign. I take it from your specific objection that you are in agreement.

BTW, I really have no interest in "throwing Larry a rope". He is a big boy and can take care of himself.

Thats far from a fact, its an unsupported assertion. The only evidence provided links it to a conspiracy theorist named Phil Berg, not Hillary's campaign.

Ah, and I suppose you want us to believe that the mass emailing that came from Hillary's campaign which began the whole thing was done by Berg, without Hillary having any knowledge of it.

Right.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

So far we've been told by those who say Sarah Palin is the closest thing to a she-devil who ever lived that Obama's nasty hippy mother who abandoned him to chase men was a saint, and that a major mass emailing by Hillary's campaign was actually done by a conspiracy theorist without Hillary's knowledge.

Right.

Next thing you know, someone will try to tell us the economy is growing....

Were you just not paying attention to how things were done, during Bill Clinton's term in office? The Clinton's modus operandi is well known and substantially documented.

If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck and looks like a duck, are you still going to demand to see the duck's genetic profile in order to ascertain whether the supposed avian in front of you is actually a duck? Or is it a dog? Or is it more likely a dwarf Jewish rabbi?

Plausible deniability is for lawyers and the courtroom. In the court of common sense, Hillary dunnit.

Ok, now its an unsupported assertion that has been repeated several times.

I don't doubt that Hillary's oppo team spread dirt on Obama when they could find it, what I question is whether they would even bother with such a crack-pot theory. At any rate, Phil Berg certainly wasn't associated with the campaign, and to hold Hillary responsible for his actions just because he supported her in the primary makes as much sense as holding Hillary responsible for my posts for the same reason.
