So people can be stupid - big surprise.

The republican party let it happen that makes them even stupider, they should know better.

The next election will work the same way.

Want to win? Control the spin.
The Confederate soldier was peculiar in that he was ever ready to fight, but never ready to submit to the routine duty and discipline of the camp or the march. The soldiers were determined to be soldiers after their own notions, and do their duty, for the love of it, as they thought best. Carlton McCarthy

The GOP picked a guy who appeared washed-out and old, with a running mate who appeared clueless. The Dems picked someone who appeared energetic, well-spoken and inspiring. The fact that he was mostly an empty shell didn't really appear until later.

The problem isn't Obama, it's the fact that the whole Presidential election is geared around personality rather than policy. The irony is that McCain tried to fight the Obama charm by hurriedly picking Sarah Palin, and it just made things worse.

Maybe the GOP can pick Donald Trump this time round - yeah, that's a really intelligent choice! A megalomaniac attention whore with a shockingly bad wig.

with a running mate who appeared clueless.

As Larry points out she became clueless after she was selected for the VP slot.

That's my point.

It's already started with Trump, he used to be a genius businessman, he is becoming more clueless by the day.

The best way to tell is to watch CNN. If they giggle and roll their eyes when they say your name the fix is in.

They have already made the (really weird) hair and the birth certificate the issues, much like the see Russia quote, which as Larry points out was well twisted.

You can blame the media if you want, but the problem is deeper, and is more to do with the celebrity associated with the position.

Palin wasn't picked because she was the best candidate. She was picked because she is pretty, and would give a feeling of youth and vigour to the campaign.

I'm not sure why Biden was picked - probably so that he wouldn't distract Obama's wonderfulness with any qualities of his own.

As far as Trump goes, he's been a ridiculous figure for years, not just since he started sniffing the candidacy. He's a caricature. You might as well say that Hugh Hefner is a good candidate.

They really should be rolling their eyes in the case of Trump. he's nothing but an opportunist and is trying to take advantage of the Tea Party Movement, and is in return making them look like fools. The fact is, that while the Tea Party was forming, having rallies, developing candidates, etc... Trump never supported any of the efforts, and in fact, was making contributions Schumer, Weiner, Crist, and other adversaries of the Tea Party. The guy is for Universal Healthcare and is arm-in-arm with the biggest labor unions in the country through his various enterprises.

I hope he gets laughed off the stage asap so the R's can take a serious look at their options.
The problem with having an open mind is that people keep trying to put things in it.

Not asap.

Wait a while so the d's don't have as long to trivialize whoever comes next.

The Donald has just announced his campaign song. He's gone with 'We shall over comb'
