Ponds; they're building ponds

HOLY CARP!!!
My boys, that is.

Baseball cancelled due to rain. Lots of rain lately.

So I am practicing Hannon and the ten-year-old comes in, wet, and proclaims, "Mom, come see my pond!"

"A pond?" I ask.

"Yes, and it won't go away because it's lined and everything."

So I hesitantly go outside, in the rain, and voila, two small ponds in my back yard. Twelve-year old looks up at me and smiles.

Ten-year-old walks into the garage to fill another bucket. As he comes back, he looks up and me and says, "See, I told you I could build a pond."

Deep breath.

"Yes, you did. Nice work."

Mom goes back inside.

What else is there to say?

Now I am really worried.

My kitchen strainer was just carried out the door with a kid explaining about an irrigation device that needed to be built.

ROFLMAO!

Heh.

I haven't been back out yet.

Sometimes you're better off not knowing.

A retired couple live across the street. The wife tells me that sometimes they sit in their living room and just watch my boys out their window for entertainment.

Ha!

I had that idea, too.

We're just a little bit away from fish, benches, and some landscaping.

That's too cool. You should be proud of them.

That said, as a guy who is responsible for three interconnected ponds of several acres I tell you now : Drain those mofos as soon as you can without crushing their spirit. :lol2:

Pics please! I'd love to see these ponds. :)

We had snow on the ground this morning. Ponds sound good.

Ooooh, the irrigation ditches are elaborate.

Husband saved the kitchen strainer.

I haven't inspected them, Al.

I'm afraid.

But the ten-year-old was standing near a pond, looking up at the sky today, asking me when it might rain again. So things may be iffy.
