As a companion thread to the one about spending, what do you need that is basically free?

Right now, I need a back rub, especially in the shoulders. Oh my.

Hmmm - unconditional love, a bit of adoration, and a back rub would be awesome.

A cool morning, and a really long run.

The Confederate soldier was peculiar in that he was ever ready to fight, but never ready to submit to the routine duty and discipline of the camp or the march. The soldiers were determined to be soldiers after their own notions, and do their duty, for the love of it, as they thought best. Carlton McCarthy

A kind word and absolute control over every living soul would be a nice start, and I could probably do without the kind word, actually.

Apparantly you haven't seen the follow up to Cap & Trade.

You can always extract as many kind words as you want, as soon as you get that other thing.

A foot rub. But that'll cost me I guess.

Agree, some nice weather. Spring is beautiful, when it's beautiful.

Today: dreary, gray, raining.

Had a nice, long telephone conversation with my daughter this evening.

That may cost a few cents, but always fulfills a need, and is always priceless.

I need my paper to be finished. One way or another. Preferably not by me. . . (notice all my passive constructions here.)

More daylight hours, more days in the weekend, more holidays. Is time free?
And more energy to use it.
Every morning the soul is once again as good as new, and again one offers it to one's brothers & sisters in life.

Is it an interesting topic at least? I just got done my first round of papers, and in two weeks I'll be hammered with the next.

Yeah, I should find it interesting, since I chose it. It's called (more or less): "Carrying cloth": The Poetics of Domestic Space in Eavan Boland's "The Women." For my contemporary poetry class. Since I'm writing my thesis on post-wwII british/irish poets (which describes Boland perfectly), it's a fairly relevant project. I'm just tired.

Yeah man, sounds heavy.

I'm actually in the midst of a 2-week break here but I have a good 10k words worth of stuff due when I get back. Soooooo, not much of a break at all, really.
