Actually America would be a better place with a lot more Rick Zimmers as long as they didn't vote in the primaries

:D
In my defense, I was left unsupervised.

Why are they licking Zimmer? (Who is Zimmer?)

What a beautiful piece of work (the animation). Not so sure about the Marxist interpretation.
In my defense, I was left unsupervised.

He used to post here under the name RZ, perhaps before your time.
In my defense, I was left unsupervised.

How on earth would America be a better place if we had a lot more ideologically constipated, brain dead leftwing fruitcakes? There's too many of them already.

I like the graphics and the presentation of that whole series. Remarkable.

Ah, yes, now I remember why Zimmer left here. He was the object of one of IT's most persistent intellectual constructs, as IT demonstrated in his post above.

By the way, I found the animation fascinating. Aside from being well done, we need all the help we can get remembering some of the causes of the Great Recession. As thisCommentary points out, we easily forget the lessons that earlier financial crises were trying to teach us.

Did he tell you that, or are you just making that up?

To be honest, reading your link, you come off pretty harsh. He must have really gotten under your skin.

I'm advancing it as my hypothesis, which I suppose can be characterized as making it up. I've had the pleasure of meeting the gentleman in question, but we didn't discuss that topic.

He didn't get under my skin -- he just committed a regular stream of fallacies that I dubbed "The Zimmerian Dialect" TM --- the bottom line is when you see absolutely none of your ideas reflected in what your interlocutor is claiming to be your position, but rather distorting your ideas beyond all recognition to support his position. So I would regularly call him on it. No big deal.

Something I'm sure others are guilty of here. hmmmmm. :lol2:

He was before my time. But I'm sure he was razzed pretty good here with his left wing agenda.

Your hypothesis does not stand up to any sort of investigation of actual fact.

last posts for Rick Zimmer Sept 2006

instances where "zimmerian dialect" was used between 1 June 2006 and 29 Feb 2008

You can consign that biased hypothesis to the dust bin.

He gave as good as he got. I am sure I'd enjoy meeting him in person since we share a lot of common interests about urbanism and about Catholicism.

To be fair, he didn't get anywhere near as much crap from IT as he did from some others here. At the time it was pretty obvious why he left, and I'm pretty sure it wasn't because of the Zimmerian thingy.

Nah, it wasn't just IT. Pretty much everyone here with a functioning brain had gotten tired of listening to his twisted, psychotic rambling.

The truth is, he couldn't defend his idiotic views around people who can think, so he left to spend all his time around people who can't think any better than he can.

Never cared. He's not smart or interesting.

I probably grade on a curve. RZ had no discernible sense of humor so he became all those other things in my eyes.
