Why Glenn Beck lost it

I don't laugh at Glenn Beck because I hate him, I laugh at him because he's such a knobhead.

Which comes back to what I said earlier. You don't know if he's a knobhead or not. You've never bothered to really listen to him. Your handlers told you to think he's a knobhead, so by golly, he's a knob head.

But I don't mind it if you think he's a knobhead. No skin off my nose. I think liberals are knob heads. But that won't stop me from being friendly with one, until he chooses to bow up and take a sh!t on American heroes. That's when I have a problem, and I won't cut any slack to a dickwad who does it.

A year ago I hurled a similar curse - "why don't you go f*ck yourself" - at a deserving poster over at Fat Shirley's. I was then asked by another poster "Why so much hate?"

Good. I believe in getting things out of your system. Did you answer the question?

As a matter a fact I did and, I might add, in no uncertain terms. I said I was not motivated by hate, but rather utter disdain and contempt for what that person wrote regarding the tragedy of the Polish Air Force TU-154 crash 10 April 2010 near Smolensk.

My handlers? Do you mean George Soros, or Jon Stewart? Maybe Tony Blair?

For Christ's sake Larry, the guy puts up big pictures of Adolf Hitler, and compares him to Obama, and bursts into tears on screen because he loves his country so much. He's a bloody clown.

I happen to think Obama's a knobhead too, incidentally. Do you think my handlers told me think that too?

Handlers...FFS, the only handler I've got is Johnny Walker.

Good. I don't remember any of it, but you did what you should have done.

Clearly you're only saying that because it's what your handlers told you to say. Deep down you're a big softy.

Is Beck over the top?

Sometimes.

Is he a showman?

Sometimes.

Are there some nuggets of Truth in all that Blarney?

You betchya! :thumb:

I've made money listening to Beck and putting what he says through the filtering process. You'll hear stuff on his show, you'll not hear anywhere else. When Katie Couric or Wolf Blitzer starts putting dollars in my pocket, I'll defend some of their nuttiness. But until then, Beck is the only one who has done so in today's media.

I'd hardly call dumping on Mr Beck hell raising. I should think there's a very long, sober line of volunteers. As for ignore lists - ignore away Mr Dickwad!

I suspect I've listened to Beck a lot more than you have. He makes a point of saying that he doesn't know when the End Time will be.

There's plenty of Truthful reasons to question Beck, but that ain't one of 'em.

Is he a showman?

Sometimes.

H. L. Mencken defined a demagogue as "one who will preach doctrines he knows to be untrue to men he knows to be idiots."

If Beck ever puts his hat in the ring for public office he will fit that definition to a T.

Nah.

Beck's Mormon. A lot of his end-time thinking stems from his background.

While he hypes his doctrine, I think he believes there is some Truth therein.

If I'd grown up listening to The Osmonds and Glenn Beck I'd be praying for the end of the world too.
