The root of all evil

If I compare two measurements qualitatively, as long as the units are the same, the units don't matter. One is either equal to or greater than the other.

There is a line we cross when we go from "I will believe it when I see it" to "I will see it when I believe it".

Still, there is a unit.

Hmmm ... may be I should write a book formalizing the measurement of evil, define a unit for it, may be even naming the unit after myself.

The answer to this thread's question would have been more straight forward after that.

I suspect that evil is logarithmic. Any measurement of it would have to be along the lines of the Richter scale.

We probably should use decibels. 3 dB more evil is twice as evil. I might also add that decibels are dimensionless. In other words they have no units.

Maybe they just have really small units that are hard to see.
In my defense, I was left unsupervised.

We've moved on to talking about our units. Keep up, man.

For some reason Jon is talking about really small units that are hard to see.

You measure it comparatively.
In what unit?
you don't use units, you use judgment.
Then it is not scientific because judgement is not scientific.
of course judgment is scientific. and science always involves judgment. every time time you do anything you do a natural and intuitive scientific evaluation of everything you know to be true. you just have an emaciated understanding of "science" as only that which is demonstrable through the scientific method and somehow quantitative/ measurable, but that is due to a bifurcated consciousness.
The dogma lives loudly within me.

Speaking of which, if someone does have a forked tongue, it increases their scientifically measurable evilness quotient by 2.4 mussolinometers. (Equivalent to .024 hitlometers!)
As a good person, I implore you to do as I, a good person, do. Be good. Do NOT be bad. If you see bad, end bad. End it in yourself, and end it in others. By any means necessary, the good must conquer the bad. Good people know this. Do you know this? Are you good?
