CNN apologizes for Shaw's 'crosshairs' usage - WATCH
by Adam Zielinski

CHICAGO (WLS) - CNN anchor John King issued an on-air apology to his viewers Tuesday for the terminology guest Andy Shaw of the Better Government Association used during a broadcast of "John King, USA".

Shaw used the term, "in the crosshairs" while the pair discussed the mayoral race in Chicago.

King apologized saying:

"Before we go to break, I want to make a quick point. We were just having a discussion about the Chicago mayoral race just a moment ago. My friend Andy Shaw, who now works for a good government group out there, used the term 'in the crosshairs' in talking about the candidates out there. We're trying, we're trying to get away from that language. Andy is a good friend. He's covered politics for a long time. But we're trying to get away from using that kind of language. We won't always be perfect, so hold us accountable when we don't meet your standards."

The Confederate soldier was peculiar in that he was ever ready to fight, but never ready to submit to the routine duty and discipline of the camp or the march. The soldiers were determined to be soldiers after their own notions, and do their duty, for the love of it, as they thought best. Carlton McCarthy

The campaign to wipe out language that clearly targets folks should be in the sights of anyone who wants to fight against the vile dialog that has been winning the war in the press.

It's about time that someone snuffed this kind of talk out.

I'd rather listen to an hour of Abba than an hour of The Beatles.

Question of the morning:

How many lives have tragically been ended because of CNN?

I'm sure the five people who watch CNN took to their fainting couches when the word "crosshairs" was uttered on air.

There is a line we cross when we go from "I will believe it when I see it" to "I will see it when I believe it".

great question Caviar.. obviously Sarah didn't start this gun flap. What she is so good at is riling up her troops, stirring their anger. Her detractors simply pointed their fingers at her and her crosshairs map which had gotten quite a lot of press at that timely moment.

as I said before, I don't like tea partiers... in KS they don't even listen to Republicans and just shout nonsense any old slogan.. get a job, down with insurance (I always think of those British priests who hold a sign saying 'down with this sort of thing.. they spit and get in your face... and that is uber unsanitary.

i imagine a bunch of citizens feel the same way i do.
