HOLY CARP!!!
|
Marry me. |
|
Civilisation, I vaguely realized then - and subsequent observation has confirmed the view - could not progress that way. It must have a greater guiding principle to survive. To treat it as a carcase off which each man tears as much as he can for himself, is to stand convicted a brute, fit for nothing better than a jungle existence, which is a death-struggle, leading nowhither. I did not believe that was the human destiny, for Man individually was sane and reasonable, only collectively a fool. I hope the gunner of that Hun two-seater shot him clean, bullet to heart, and that his plane, on fire, fell like a meteor through the sky he loved. Since he had to end, I hope he ended so. But, oh, the waste! The loss! - Cecil Lewis | |

Heh. Just want to make sure we are all clear that I am not in denial about my team's place in the hierarchy of badass NFL teams. |

I think you are! That team that came out in the second half last night could have beaten any team anywhere. I feel a lot better about our chances coming out of last night then I did going in. Even with the absurd first half. |

You guys watching the Jets game? Both teams are suckin'. Jets had plenty of opportunities but they don't have their sh!t together. My dad was at the Steelers game last night. He's totally hoarse today. |

I work with a New Yorker - he's going to be completely insufferable tomorrow. Considering the amount of crap the locals have being giving him for the last couple of week, it's going to be really funny. |

If Foxborough was flying a flag tonight, that's what it would say on it. I went shopping at 5pm, and it was a complete ghost-town. Everybody working in Stop and Shop had on Patriots shirts, and kept running over to the TV. I think I must be the only person in the whole town who isn't interested in American football. |

I was in a bar, waving the terrible towel, high-fiving strangers, and drinkings lots of beer. That was a good game. One of my best friends is a Ravens fan, and we talk smack all the time. We even sat next to each other at the bar. As you might expect, he was pretty quiet during the second half and kept repeating "Typical Ravens football, always finding a way to lose." LET'S GO STEELERS! GLAD WE HAVE HOME FIELD FOR THE AFC CHAMPIONSHIP!!!!* *not forgetting that the Jets have beaten the Colts and Patriots on the road |

My 12-year-old just politely asked me if it was okay to get the family room ready for the AFC playoff game. I asked what he envisioned. Cleaning and vacuuming. Decorations. A menu created. I granted permission. It's actually amazing how well he understands the league. He has left his mother in the dirt. |

I just bought a dozen black and gold cookies for the game. They're hidden in the freezer under some healthy Asian food. No one will find them. |
