That day is out for me. Sorry.

Come out to Leesburg and fly an airplane

We need to figure out a place to meet where we'll be able to watch the Jets and the Ravens AFC championship game.

Also, LD might be in after all, he was under the impression that we were talking about a daytime get-together. If we can choose a place that will make his participation more likely, that'd be great.

Although I will be without a car so something near a metro would be cool too....

In my defense, I was left unsupervised.

Jon, I have a good location.

First, find a short pier.

Then, talk a long walk off it.

:smokin:

How DARE you say the Ravens will be in the AFC championship when Aqua, LD, and I are all Steelers fans!!!!!

Akshually...I know a great place that'll have the game, not too loud, right near a metro, etc. Care if I post it here (public interw3bs and all), or via PMs?

I would never mix a Packers playoff game with a social event. Not enough attention to go around, and I'd be in no mood at all to socialize if the game didn't turn out well.
As a good person, I implore you to do as I, a good person, do. Be good. Do NOT be bad. If you see bad, end bad. End it in yourself, and end it in others. By any means necessary, the good must conquer the bad. Good people know this. Do you know this? Are you good?

You can post it here AFAIC.

Oh, and I think the Jets and Ravens will lose. My comment was wishful thinking on one part and a tweak on the other....

Actually yeah - that would be fun.

Ok - well let's meet at Union Jacks in Arlington, at 6pm. You can get off at the Ballston metro stop, walk a block to the mall, and it's on the street level, inside the mall. I'm sure you can find a directory. I find it has a really diverse beer selection, especially with British beers (obviously, hence the name of the bar), a bunch of TVs everywhere, and good food.

I have to warn you though, so as not to appear rude...if the Steelers are playing in that game, I am going to be focused on that. Guess we'll know after this Saturday if that'll be the case. Plus, we can always chat during halftime.

No problem. THe great thing about football is there's long pauses between plays which will give us a chance to gossip about forumites talk.

Hey Jon, Aqua, and others - any chance you want to do an earlier dinner at 4:30?

I only ask because I'll likely be very rude if the game is on. I'm not kidding...

Might even want to switch bars at 6pm to a place that's more fun to watch the game...packed with fans, etc. In the same mall, just about a 2 minute walk from Union Jack's.

PS. Guess it'll be a Pittsburgh-NY game afterall!!

I'm not really sure this thing is doable for me. As much as I would love to, Luke's just coming into an age where he's getting football, and we just had an absolute blast together watching the game on Saturday. He's hoping to watch the game with me on Sunday, and I'm looking forward to watching it with him. Taking him to a sports bar is a little out of the question, so I'm afraid I'll have to pass this time around in favor of a special father/son afternoon/evening. Sorry guys.
The problem with having an open mind is that people keep trying to put things in it.
