The Confederate soldier was peculiar in that he was ever ready to fight, but never ready to submit to the routine duty and discipline of the camp or the march. The soldiers were determined to be soldiers after their own notions, and do their duty, for the love of it, as they thought best. Carlton McCarthy | |

If you had even read the article, LD, you would know that women are being left behind because they don't practice short sentences at home. Holy ****. And people actually think like this. Anytime you want a mammoth dose of neurotic claptrap, open up the jobs/careers section of ANY news site. These people slay me. |

That used to bother me. Until I figured out there is nothing wrong with thinking like a total whatever. These people are just totally clueless forever. The problem is the people who pay them money to think like that. I'll never get over those guys. |

I'll give you three reasons, just my opinion: 1. Kids. Women take off for their kids, either because they are ill or as their children become older, they take off for their children's events. 2. Health. While women may live longer than men, they tend to call in more and have more minor, nagging conditions, at least until the guys hit their 50's. 3. Deference. I think more people like working for a man than working for a woman. |

Women go to the doctor more because they aren't as afraid of them as men. I swear. What is it with men and their fear of doctors? I agree with the health thing, Jolly, but I also think my above statements should be considered. |
| And how are you today? | |

You're reading it wrong. Men aren't afraid of doctors, they just think the practice is bullsh!t. "There's nothing wrong with me, I can take care of myself," etc. |
