If you want trouble, find yourself a redhead
Six people were killed in the rampage:

John Kroll (63) - a Federal Court Judge

Gabe Zimmerman (30) - one of Congresswoman Giffords' aides

Christina Taylor-Green (9) - an elementary school student and granddaughter of Major League Baseball executive Dallas Green

Dorwin Stoddard (76) - a pastor at Mount Avenue Church of Christ. Stoddard's wife Mavy was wounded in the leg, but is expected to recover.

Phyllis Scheck (79)

Dorthy Murray (76)

You may offer your condolences online here:

Legacy Guestbook: Tucson Shooting Victims

I have been unable to get a list of the 14 wounded.

Once in his life, every man is entitled to fall madly in love with a gorgeous redhead - Lucille Ball

Thanks. As I said, we tend to lose perspective. You've brought it back. In addition to the lives shattered that you listed, there are others that will never, ever, be the same.

Nothing is as effective as homeopathy.

I'd rather listen to an hour of Abba than an hour of The Beatles.

HOLY CARP!!!
RIP. What a mind-numbing tragedy.

I am worried for mrs Giffords regarding the extent to which she will still be "alive".
As a good person, I implore you to do as I, a good person, do. Be good. Do NOT be bad. If you see bad, end bad. End it in yourself, and end it in others. By any means necessary, the good must conquer the bad. Good people know this. Do you know this? Are you good?

[doctor hat on]

From what I read, the bullet entered her skull, just above her eye. It exited at the side of her head, above the ear (I may have exit/entrance wounds reversed). With any luck (and I know this sounds coldly clinical - please accept apologies), she may end up with only some weakness of one side of her body. If the wound was on the right side, her speech may be preserved. The brain is an amazing organ, and she may have less deficit than we fear. Reports I read today said that she is "communicating." If that's the case, there's room for cautious optimism. To have any sense of awareness 24 hours after a gunshot to the brain is amazing.

On the other hand, they had to remove part of her skull so that the brain swelling wouldn't cause pressure on the brain. The skull can be reconstructed with surgery, so once the swelling goes down, she may be okay.

Good to know, thanks George.

From the doctor's press conference yesterday, I was afraid the bullet had passed through a long axis of the brain and she was alive only by some miracle.

You do have it reversed. I watched Dateline tonight and the attending doctors said it entered just above the ear and exited just above the eye. I don't recall which side they said, but said she may have trouble remembering words during speech which may have been affected.

I got the impression, if one gets shot in the head, this was the most survivable shot angle of any.
Identifying narcissists isn't difficult. Just look for the person who is constantly fishing for compliments
and admiration while breaking down over even the slightest bit of criticism.

We have the freedom to choose our actions, but we do not get to choose our consequences.
