RICHMOND, Va.—A federal judge ruled Monday that a central plank of the health law violates the Constitution, dealing the biggest setback yet to the Obama administration's signature legislative accomplishment.

In a 42-page ruling, U.S. District Judge Henry E. Hudson said the law's requirement that most Americans carry insurance or pay a penalty "exceeds the constitutional boundaries of congressional power."

The problem with having an open mind is that people keep trying to put things in it.

Would've been much cooler had the judge simply printed out this and handed it out as his judgment:

My money says the Supremes will uphold Obamacare. And don't believe for a New York minute I think that's a good thing.

My main issue with it, was the lack of review, the fact that no one knows what's actually IN the damn thing, and the fact that it's something that affects every single American, and yet it was rammed through without any kind of voter review. The way it's been handled from the beginning, seems very... I don't know... coercive.

Is the health care system in need of revamping? Yes. A resounding yes. It's disgusting that the primary cause of bankruptcy in veterans and the elderly, is medical bills.

HOLY CARP!!!
I just went to fill my Valcyte on Friday, for the double-viral infection I'm fighting, and it rang up at $7000 dollars.
32 tablets - 8 days worth - $7k
Revamping highly in order.

No need to throw it all out though, by and large, it's working for the vast majority of us. The example above is an example of what's wrong with a) the FDA's IV phases (hoops) to jump though, or b) the patent system (depending on your perspective).

By and large, it hasn't been implemented yet. So far, we've seen 110 220 companies get waivers for implementing. We've seen several insurers say they won't give individual policies (Aetna), and we've seen some who are not going to write children's policies. We've seen some drugs not approved by the death panel board, either because their too expensive, or not deemed to be effective enough for all comers.

Wait 4 years.

Nothing is as effective as homeopathy.

I'd rather listen to an hour of Abba than an hour of The Beatles.
