Finally
HTC, last year, said there is no problem with smartphone antennas: http://www.appleinsider.com/articles/10/07/19/htc_samsung_also_take_issue_with_apples_antenna_claims.html

"The reception problems are certainly not common among smartphones," said HTC Chief Financial Officer Hui-Meng Cheng.

Well, maybe there is: http://www.computerweekly.com/Articles/2010/12/02/244306/HTC-defends-HD7-handsets-after-antenna-problems-reported.htm

Several YouTube videos that circulated the internet show the HTC HD7, which runs Microsoft's Windows Phone 7 operating system, dropping T-Mobile signal when held by the user at the bottom of the handset.

In a statement, a HTC spokesman said, "Quality in industrial design is of key importance to HTC. To ensure the best possible signal strength, antennas are placed in the area least likely to be covered by a person's face or hands while the phone is in use."

"However, it is inevitable that a phone's signal strength will weaken a little when covered in its entirety by a user's palm or fingers. We test all of our phones extensively and are confident that under normal circumstances reception strength and performance will be more than sufficient for the operation of the phone when network coverage is also adequate," the spokesman continued.

Uh huh. Whatev...

I wonder if Consumer Reports will rate the HTC Windows phone as "Not Recommended" too.

Nothing is as effective as homeopathy.

I'd rather listen to an hour of Abba than an hour of The Beatles.

I am the grey one
I often add a couple of dB to the link budget for "body loss" when I design coverage.

There is a line we cross when we go from "I will believe it when I see it" to "I will see it when I believe it".
