North-Sea Islanders are known for limbo? Learn something new every day...

I'm going to start classifying as a Inter-Oceanic Islander.

Everybody in the UK has been in a perpetual state of limbo since about 1945. I suspect that's why the Pope decided to close it down.
What do you mean "we", have you got a mouse in your pocket?

Oh - I was picturing tiki torches, umbrella drinks, and a broom handle being held up by a couple m8s of yours.

I agree.
I've seen many a form with only "Pacific Islander" for most Asian ethnicities.
Apparently China is considered by some to be an island in the Pacific Ocean - a really really sturdy one.

I'd imagine she finds it equally awkward and/or insulting for all Asians to be lumped together as one group.
My wife does not even like to be lumped together with the Taiwanese.

JBryan: Not surprising.
I wonder how the folks inside the super-secret inner-earth cities (you know, at the center of the earth) feel. They're not even descendant of the same genetic code as us, and are largely unknown - I wonder what they fill out on the census?

I'm pretty sure they would be classified as illegal aliens foe a couple of reasons.

Oh - well at least they'd have great access to healthcare then.
I wonder if they know that?

Seems to me a little more effort into choosing people that aren't the kind of dipsticks who copy classified information off the computers rather than who they prefer to sleep with, would go a long way.
The PFC who stole the stuff for WikiLeaks is gay.
So?
One of his stated reasons for stealing the classified info, was he felt he was constantly being picked on, and felt like getting even.

1. The mass majority are no longer "uncomfortable" with the idea.

2. "Comfortable" is not the right criterion to apply anyway. Neither gong through nor shooting at people nor getting shot at are "comfortable" things to do, but are part of the job description anyway.
A couple of thoughts:

1. Who gives a shiite about the mass majority? The best damn destroyers on the planet, the United States Marine Corps, are the loudest voices in the military against repealing DADT.

2. Then for gawd's sake, don't make combat troops any more "uncomfortable" than they have to be, in order to achieve their mission.

Wars are like gunfights, there is no second place. Wars should be avoided at almost all costs, but when and if we have to fight, I don't care if the troops have to adopt the methods of the Waffen SS, it's like Al Davis told the Raiders, "Just win, baby".

When the smoke clears, the winner gets to write the history books.

Yeah, but you wouldn't really feel right about winning a war without all the sexual preferences represented.

I mean it just wouldn't be comfortable for the mass majority.

Comfort matters.
The Confederate soldier was peculiar in that he was ever ready to fight, but never ready to submit to the routine duty and discipline of the camp or the march. The soldiers were determined to be soldiers after their own notions, and do their duty, for the love of it, as they thought best. Carlton McCarthy

Men aren't allowed to sleep in the same barracks with women because sooner or later some guy isn't going to be able to control his urges and a woman is going to wake up with some guy chewing on her nipples.

Hey, let's set policy based on some men's inability to control their urges.

Great idea. :thumb:

Lar, I realize this will come as a shock to you but some men are able to control their urges.

Kenny, unless you're planning on arguing that all homosexual males control their urges and only heterosexual males cannot, your point is meaningless.
