I just thought I would share about my day yesterday. The mr has not been doing a great job of kicking a virus' anoos, so things have been a bitty stressful around here. He was able to spend Thanksgiving at home with the family, so that was a blessing, and then he was able to join my fam on an adventure yesterday. Hooray! So for the first time in a long time, my parents, my bro and his wife and child and some friends of ours all traipsed up into the mtns in search of our Christmas trees. We usually get ours a week before Christmas at a local tree stand, so I wasn't sure how this was going to play out. It was the best time!! For a small fee to the local mtn fire department (or a donation to Smokey the Bear) we hiked and cut down our own trees. It ended up being my brother, my dad and me who did the cutting and carrying the trees back to the rest of the party, but it was so much fun! Lots of pine needles and gravel and tree trunks and branches on the ground meant that I spent a nice amount of time on the ground and dropped the trees about 4 times, but I basically walked away unscathed (just a little bruised). I caught the sight of 2 does about 100 yds from me and was not quick enough to get a picture... But it was just so peaceful and felt really good to work for the tree. Ended the day at the fire station with cocoa and watched my niece have her first pic with Santa taken. Good times! |

Mrs KB, I've been thinking about you two for the past few days. Still offering prayers for good things. Sounds like yesterday was one of those.
