Not Everyone Hates Russia

The Moscow Times 26 November 2010
By Yevgeny Bazhanov

Russian political scientists like to speak of the centuries-old clash between Russian and Western civilizations. One of their theories is that the West has been united in an ongoing attempt to break Russia’s back and enslave it.

------
Sounds kinda like how many in the U.S. (including me, somewhat) are paranoid about everyone else.

Renauda, is Kiev now Kyiv? I hate it when they do that.

...is Kiev now Kyiv?
Yes. Kiev is the traditional Russian pronunciation. Kyiv (pronounciation pretty to close to the English, *cave*) is Ukrainan.

Personally, I never really saw Russia as any kind of real threat or the bogeyman that the media made it out to be. The nuclear stuff worried me, but I also saw that the power of the US in the west and the USSR in the east, provided a lot of stability, worldwide. Once the Cold War was proclaimed at an end, I said to an Army buddy of mine: "You watch: Now there's going to be hundreds of meaningless little dirt-wars all over the world."

Well, Larry, I made my point clear, you said what you had to say, and it seems that more discussion will not be productive anymore. Let's rather have a beer
Interesting the way you chose to word that - you "made your point clear" but I only "said what I had to say".... lol

The way I see it, I made my point clear, and you said what you had to say..... :D

But I'll buy the drinks.. I'll be having Diet Coke.. don't like beer..
