Here's the clip. In the beginning she clearly, clearly identifies North Korea as a problem. Beck corrects her when she makes the gaffe...

I don't care about countries, mine or yours and the statement stands regardless of whether one thinks any particular incident is an error or not.

Well, I guess that's a luxury you can afford, as you sit there in the little artificial world you're in. Maybe one day we can go visit one of the Belgian graveyards scattered across Europe.

Oh wait - there aren't any Belgian graveyards scattered around Europe, are there? Lots of American ones, though..

So once again - you and all the rest of the world that thinks we owe you an apology can kiss our collective asses.

So, Larry, you think that because the US did something good during a 6-year period 70 years ago (after refusing to be involved, and not only out of altruism) nobody is allowed to criticize the US for the next 200 years or what? Get real.

Jesus.

If not caring about nations is a "luxury" then it is a luxury than anyone can afford; the idea that all that ever matters are people (or perhaps more accurately minds) does not cost anything.

I'm not Belgian

I think the graveyards of those lost in war are sad regardless of which flag the soldiers happened to carry.

I never claimed that I was owed an apology by anyone let alone your government. Though I do think there can be value to such apologies if used in the right place because they are humanising - e.g. they mitigate a small amount of the anger that fuels the current terrorist-conflict.

WW2 is irrelevant; criticisms of certain foreign policies (and demands that those criticisms be addressed) stand or fall on their own merit.

This country doesn't owe any country on the face of the planet a God damned thing. If any "humanizing" needs to happen, it can start with a few of the countries in Europe who are free because of the sacrifices we made saying thank you once in awhile.

Bunch of ungrateful snots.

The situation in Korea is a good example - everyone is asking what the US is going to do to solve the problem.

Where are the f*cking Germans? Where are the French? The Italians? The Spaniards? The British? Where??????

Nah, let the US handle it. Let the US sacrifice its men, spend its money, and then all you Europeans can sit around and whine about what meanies we are, and how we owe you a f*cking apology.

F*ck ever damned one of you.

Okeydokey :lol2:

Well, have you studied the wars of the last 2000 years to find out who helped whom else?

I'm sure that you'll find out that every person has to be thankful to almost every other person on the planet, and hence, according to your logic, nobody can criticize nobody.

That still allows everybody to criticise everybody. Haha take that professor of logic - I have defeated you!

I will accept your surrender on the condition that you accept realism and reject cultural relativism in all it's forms. :P

[dada]Don't worry. Being a true (i.e., absolute) relativist would be contradictory. I am a relativist with regard to relativism of course (and the same for the transitive closure of this relation, of course). [/dada]

What a train wreck of political despair, irony and insult this thread seems.
Avoiding any Belgian waffle, it could be said that America's always blowing it's trumpet :trumpet: so you kinda expect them to lead the charge.
Personally I remain thankful you Yanks were forced to join in WW11 or I'd likely be fluent in Russian. Nor has everyone forgotten what America did for the free world in the following 40 years. Mind you we were paying our rich best friends for the help for even longer

The media may pick up the odd fault, but Palin is using them to cultivate an image as do all ambitious politicians. Meet the new boss.

OK, guys, here's the rule.

This is the magic year after which no one is allowed to criticize those who did something to help them gain or preserve freedom and/or liberty:

1783.
